You hit on a good point. Education begins in the home. I believe having a black focused schools is going to improve parental involvement which I believe is at the heart of the issue of our youths. No matter what kind of school system black kids are involved in, if the have parents that will fight for them when they are being picked on; show up to Parent Teacher meetings; review the kid's homework with them each night, and so forth - the kids will excel.
No matter who is teaching our kids, they are no substitute for parental involvement in the educational system. All we are doing is replacing one babysitter for another.
For those who agree with the concept, they do not provide answers for certain concerns about the whole process.
The irony is there is a built in sense of exclusion because these schools - due to geography - will only be accessible to some black kids not all.
