What are you guys talking about?

They only 'failed' for lack of time, really, and some minor resources which would definitely have been at a Pharoah's beck and call, not because they couldn't figure it out, they figured out a lot of it. With the right resources of a dedicated labor camp and time, they could probably engineer a <span style="font-style: italic">better</span> pyramid, one that might have plumbing.

while they didn't wind up with a finished pyramid, the point being, they did figure it out- basically- they <span style="font-style: italic">could</span> succeed in doing it...they just didn't have the time or a pharoah's budget.

nah man, you can't view it that way at all...it is not like the Egyptians just broke out one day and said sh!t, you know what would look good right here? One big @ss pile of stones with 4 sides and a point on top! They had hundreds if not thousands of years to do it and practice and learn, as did all other monumental cultures...and in fact some of the early attempts weren't that great, isn't there a 'bent' pyramid.

nova just needed the proper conditions, the whole thing was 'just to see' if it could be done and to figure out some <span style="font-style: italic">practical</span> as opposed to arm chair theory as to how.

the reverse engineering argument such as which frankster raises only washes so far- if I gave you a wristwratch and broke it apart and told you to put it back together again, without the specific knowledge necessary of watchbuilding, you wouldn't be able to do it. We couldn't infer from that exercise that the person with the jumble of springs and sprockets was not intelligent.

This is an argument from ignorance, a logical fallacy which, ironically, we can say the Egyptians helped develop.

i guess you missed that little japanese thing there...
of course it can be done...it's been done- by them; just not by any modern civilization...it's not taking anything away from modern civilizations, it's just a simple fact that they don't know exactly how the egyptians did it to this day;
likewise modern civilization has things the egyptians never dreamt of; but for a people that far in antiquity you have to admit they were intense and very clever...
no they didn't just get up one day; their civilization developed for thousands of years before it reached a peak...probably 5 to 10 thousand years before the great pyramid; it would have required that long for them to develop a calendar and accurately record the movement of certain stars.

i think you may underestimate their ingenuity

i saw it on a tv show also...nat geo or history channel or nova; one of those...
this will sound like a joke but the best explanation i ever heard of how they were built was by comedian eddie griffin
