Seet deh... I have heard Jamaicans refer to darker skin Jamaicans as 'yuh a african and a buttooo' as if to imply people from Africa are backward. Now if our fellow Jamaicans grow this way and say these things out loud what we expect from 'white' people.

Many of us quick to call someone &quot;BLACK and ugly&quot; rather than just say the person ugly. Is little brain washing things like that in everyday language people naw think before dem open dem mout and mek demself look stupid... cho not to mentioned the names we call dark peole.. midnight, blackah, blockout, power cut, shadow yet if white man call we cookie or coloured we bex. That is an old political stance. It is used by Asians here in the UK too. Don't be mistaken, because the Asians are quick to tell you they aren't 'black' but when election time come or if they need the 'black vote' all of a sudden they wear the 'black cap' and after election or voting on some committee they take it off and back to being Asians. The Chinese here do the same political acrobatics so since SA is now gotten time to restructure somewhat after Mandella's victory the same political tool is being used there by the 'ethinic chinese' as mi notice the article refer to them so many times...

This is not about classifying people as a race, a culture... it's about politics and legislating to benefit from it. I would be no less Jamaican or African if I went to live in China and the legal system said I can pass as Chinese as an 'Ethnic African'. I don't mean as a citizen I mean as a race.
