The pilot was Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger, 57 years old from Danville, Ca......flew an F-4 for the USAF...he was also a glider pilot, which may have had something to do with his ability to land the plane....

Hey I started out on gliders too! I think it's a good way to learn. Cause you really learn how to manage energy real well. If you don't you end up in smaddy cassava piece.
