Negro is a Spanish word. And given how the British changed all the Spanish words, I'm surprised this one stuck around.

Caucasian means you come from the Caucas. Mi fly over that the piece of land every few onths, and it looks very uninhabitable and given that it's in Asia and it's inhabitants look Chiney, I'm now sure how it got associated with whites in the first place.

And colored is spelled col<span style="text-decoration: underline">ou</span>red otherwise it looks funny.

i'm sure 'negro' was a great way to dis-associate us from our history and from being real people...
'knee-grow' has a certain in-human ring to it...
i would respond with 'blaayn-co'

like they would say 'white' and then say 'negro' in the next sentence...they would say 'european' or 'asian' in one sentence then say 'negro' in the next...

very trick-nologically clever, those types

no it wouldn't but whites accept it because in their languages the word &amp; color 'white' usually has a positive connotation whereas the word/color 'black' usually has negative...

so this is acceptable tricknology to them

You should see me struggling to answer the question when one of our young flight attendants walks onto the cockpit and asks 'weh we deh?'

It is. But there's a chance for a slip up mi not willing to take.

It's normally just the south east corner of Niger that we pass through so I can safely say we're approaching Nigeria or just left Chad.

Plus some of our girls are not up to date on geography and they bound to ask 'where?' which necessitates repeating the word many times.

People who are not from the United States are usually described by their country, Italian/Peruvian/Kenyan or region, Asian/European/South American.

When it comes to people from this country it's usually White/Black/Hispanic/Pacific Islander. Some people choose to identify with their ancestral country and this one, Italian-American, Irish-American, Spanish-American.

The only option for Black people in this country that are descended from slaves is African-American unless they've done much genealogical research. Africa is not a country. It's a continent with a number of countries. Although I guess it's the same as Americans calling themselves Americans.

Negro, to me, is only a milder version of [censored], so I wouldn't be excited to be referred to as Negro. I usually refer to myself as Black but I'm not exactly excited about that either, because although I'm quite dark, I'm a lovely chocolate, not a deep ebony. I readily acknowledge that I am of African descent, but African-American seems too settled for and for lack of a better term. *shrug* As I said, is there really a good answer?</span>
