It states that in the article. He could have been experiencing racial harassment on the job and it was too much. Doesnt' give him reason to kill himself and his family though.

That is just madness,how can you kill your family and yourself cos you got layed off,....the situation doesnt warrant such drastic actions,got to be some other reason.

I'm not sure I'm buying the whole thing yet tho ...

Some of the local papers CA have broader coverage on this.

Some of his family are saying he has been a little off for a long time. Others report on his life long paranoia.

Who knows - as usual, real details will come later - some will never be known.

Either way - too horrific an ending.

Those poor beautiful children.

I tell you I wanted to bust out crying when I read where his letter asked, 'why leave the children to strangers'

Nope. I don't believe there's anything that would cause me to want to take my life or that of my children. I have too much hope to believe that loosing my job and material possessions is the end of me. All it means to me is that I have to adjust my life style and keep pushing on. Unfortunately, not everyone can handle the pressure. Very sad situation in LA

Only way I would kill myself is if I KNEW for a fact that it was the only way to save my daughters life.

other than that - I will fight tooth and nail for every breath of life that I draw... even if mi haffe nyam outta garbige pan an sleep inna cardboard box.

i wish sumaddy woulda kill him agen fe tek those poor innocnet childrens lives...

Life is presious and unlike many I am afraid to die.. there are however worst things in life than death...... Can I envsion killing my family yes I can....For a job loss no...

Choice Auswitch or death ? A 17th centuary Jamaican Plantation or death ????? Starvation or death ???? A nuclear witner or death ????? My sons being taken as a child soldier or death ????? My wife or daugher being gang raped or death ?????Suicide is not always a defeat it can be used as a weapon of resistance....

Jamaican Taino posioned our children rather than let them be slaves...

There was a Viet Minh officer who slit his child throat rather than let him be taken alive..... if the story was he later killed himself after victory.....

I wouldn't I have been through numerous financial and physical trauma, including torture and losing over US$1/4mil in one go, but I would never consider that, not even getting drunk or abusing drugs.

Start a For Profit Soup Kitchen!
I think it is actually easier for a family of more than two, with kids of young children past say 10yrs old to find more creative ways to stay afloat than say a couple with just one child. Too many might be better than two!
