I do not use the word fetish. It was never a part of our vocabulary when I was growing up. But some Africans use it differently, some use it as a charm, for some it is the same as guard with its own residence, like a special place in the house or yard.
I must add that a guard can also manifest itself in animals.
But me done chat too much aready
I now consider myself quite fortunate to have experienced deaths because it brought many experiences.
I was brought to my great-grandmother who blessed me. She was into the healing thing, healed a broken rib with her bare hands, etc. She died when I was still a baby. So I experienced how she was dealt with on a daily basis.
Some amazing things. Then 2 of her children died when I was old enough. So I got a personal dosage.
People used to come by us when them need remedies, the money was never taken they had to drop it. Me see dem do that in Nigerian films same way. Ah tradition
But even dem a plenty a mumbo jumbo.
Then we had a neighbour who went to Dominican Republic and got some guards for her yard
man, people used to be afraid to even walk on that street, na ask how dem used to see things in people yard, even ours
My cousin went into the science big time after his mother died, we lived in the same vicinity. Im even bring down black bird on the house
for many days only come out at night and was on a special diet. He claimed to have placed her in a bottle. Was quite interesting cause everything he was doing was being countered on our side. Well he get write off fe crazy, guess is for him own good.
And then there was me taking my exams. What did I not have to do in the morning, midday and evenings. The whole works just fe ward off badmindedniss
