I was about to ask fi di source of such a blatant li...er, uhm relevant information , but then remembered Milo lives in Canada (right?) so it may have bottomed out for them. As for the rest of us on the other side of the border...

Eight out of the last nine trading sessions have been positive.

Purchased my mutual funds at the very bottom.

I know it is a long term thing and I'm not suppose to think in terms of days or weeks but of years but still, I get the feel that things (here in Canada anyway) have stopped bleeding.

Let's hope!

Yes, dow is up, and so is S&amp;P and Nasdaq, but for how long? The next windfall, which may be right around the corner, can change those figures quite rapidly. This isn't an accurate barometer that the recession has petered out. More telling (at least imo) would be a sharp decline in the unemployment rate/sharp rise in the job market. And these things really can't happen in a vaccuum (sp)...

well over the weekend the white house announced tentatively what they were going to do with the MBO (credit mess-getting the assets off the bank's balance sheet) and this is causing the rally.

but isnt that the barometer they were using to measure the recessionw hen it was getting deeper?

unlikely to see a sharp decline in the unemployment rate..more likely to see a leveling off
