Article contradicts itself. says in one part the queen "returned the gesture" of putting her arms round michelle, then in a next part article says queen put hand round michelle then "almost simultaneously" the michelle put her arm round the queen.

Plus, as Tony Royal says, Americans are not subjects of the queen so the usual protocols don't apply. ppl dem prolly put out that michelle and elizabeth seemed to get along, demma look fi sittn fi criticize.

Far as I know mgee it`s not been made a fuss of here,its been commented on but only as part of the charm that michelle has brought,she is being very well received here right now.

Tony Royal is not the keeper of Protocols. The Protocols are not for the average commoners there are for a visitor to gets an audience the Queen, Head Of States/Representatives of such on visits abroad.

So the Protocols were breached but Michelle was allowed to keep her head because the Queen realized that this is 21st Century, if the USA does not recover quickly her Royal Pensions will be imperiled.

True that,the protocols exist wherever in the world she travels,a few years ago the australian prime minister got a right good trouncing in the british press for putting his hand around the royal back,...fellow damn near came to losing his head.

Must correct this,actually the beast had no problems winding through the streets,however they did have some problems doing a 3 point turn outside no 10.
