Seem to be all the rage here..

one smaddy host the event at their home & gets a cut of the proceeds.

Gold buyer comes in with the scales and cash

Invitees to the party come in with dem old gold and get cash

seems like all around everyone is happy eh?

Why the gold buyers so eager to buy up the gold? That would tell me that gold may become a scarcer, subsequently highly prized commodity sometime in the future yes?


But on the other hand for the people willing to sell dem gold, dem a sell at the right time? Old jewel values??

I think its just a business opportunity for tough times.

I bet the gold parties pay better than the pawn shops. Quick way to get money to buy next weeks groceries.

Gold went up a tick yesterday and then dropped like a rock this morning. I guess there is faith in the G21 Family!

its not that the buyers are eager to purchase the gold, its just that with times hard, they are being offered more gold by consumers.

cashforgold is one company that was profiled on 60mins i think.

with this company you can send in yuh gold they weigh it and send yuh what its worth in dollars.

some people get carried away with the sentimental value attached to the item and when dem get 6.00 fi grandpa ring dem start cuss

They are only going to get a precentage of the metal value, but the Pawn Shops pay even less!
Trust me I have sold a bunch of very expensive stuff for scrap recently.

There are a number of ways to invest in gold; you are talking about buying the metal.

The price is based on 999.9 (24kt) Gold per Troy Ounce
1 troy ounce = 20 Pennyweights = 31.1 grams
Any fraction of an ounce must be taken into consideration as well as any lower quality.

Decimal equivalents of karat ratings:
.375 = 9K (England and Canada)
.417 = 10K
.500 = 12K
.583 (.585) = 14K
.625 = 15K
.667 = 16K
.750 = 18K
.833 = 20K (Asia)
.917 = 22K (Asia)
.999 (1000) = 24K pure gold

If you find yourself with 10 grams of 14kt gold how to determine the value of the metal.

Taking the Closing price as US$900, we will use a formula to determine the value

First find the price of 14kt:

900 x .585 = 526.50

Then find the price of each gram of 14kt

526.50 / 31.1 = 16.92926045 (never round off when you are calculating gold weights and prices till you reach the final value)

Finally the value of your 10 grams of gold.

10 x 16.92926045 = 169.2926045

Formula

(Gold Spot market x decimal karat value /31.1) x what you have

($900 x .585 /31.1 grams) x 10 grams

Generally the refiners pay 95% of the Value Pawn Shops about 50% or less and others maybe 85%.
