these kids are learning their behavior from the society at large...

ANYTHING that makes a child different from the rest, especially if they're new to the area or school.

I lived it as a kid. It started with being the new kid, then they noticed I was hairier than most 9 YEAR OLD girls and that started MORE taunting. At 9 years old I hacked myself to hell with my grandfather's razor trying to get rid of what made me different. My grandmother came into the bathroom and found me a bloody mess.
I had no real friends and spent my time in the house where it was fairly safe. That's when I started putting on weight and then that just gave them MORE ammo.

Then at 13 we moved back to the city. IN A CLASSROOM I was spit on from behind by the biggest bully in the school. The teacher KNEW what happened and didn't do anything about it because HE, a grown man, was AFRAID of the 7th grade bully.
That was the day *I* wanted it all to end. It was so humiliating to be SO abused in the presence of an adult in a position of authority.
Do you have ANY idea how hard it was to go thru that day and walk home from school with my head held up?

I have never had mental health issues. I was intelligent, well adjusted and a good student. As an adult I have NEVER entertained thoughts of suicide, but at that time it crossed my mind.

It doesn't matter what the reason is that they pick on a child. It's the mob mentality of EVERYONE ostracizing and humiliating and taunting and getting NO support from the people in authority.

Now those poor sweet babies are gone. And for what?

Me always wondered about the trail you ALWAYS leave behind Tropicana's posts, for example. Would you consider that to be ADULT BULLYING of some sorts? Kids read these boards too, do you think you are an influencer in that regard?

i saw the mother of one these kids (not sure which on CNN)..there was also a gay activist speaking about how how gay kids are treated

she sey her 11 yr old son was not gay..he basically was just a kid who smiled a lot and didn't have that &quot;tuff&quot; attitude..

to her point the issue is about parents teaching acceptance of those who are &quot;different&quot; (fat. skinny, shawt,whimpy,. whateva) at home..

i think her point is a valid one
