Yes PB has enough money around to have their homeless managed by a less wealthy town.

In NJ the wealthy towns manage their responsibility of affordable housing by sending the monies to other towns so I dont think it much different in PB

apparently she was not the only one who made a $10M donation.
Remember with the foundations, these donations are also tax deductible - it is not all true charity



The media mogul Barry Diller and the fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg have made a $10 million challenge grant to the High Line, the former elevated railway along the Hudson River that is being converted into a landscaped walkway. “I fell in love with the project, with the place,” Ms. Von Furstenberg said in a telephone interview. “It’s a beautiful green ribbon that will travel from Gansevoort to the Javits Center.”

The donation ranks among the four largest ever given by individuals to New York City parks, said the parks commissioner, Adrian Benepe. “There’s something about New York and parks that brings out extraordinary generosity,” he said.

<span style="font-weight: bold">Update:</span> After the donation was announced, another couple immediately volunteered to match it, Philip and Lisa Maria Falcone. That brings the fund-raising to $44 million in a $50 million capital campaign. It will be allotted in <span style="font-weight: bold">$2 million annual increments over five years, requiring Friends of the High Line, a nonprofit group that manages the project, to match each installment.</span>

I get some of your point tho - it's no one's affair to tell them what to do with their money - they probably worked hard for it - let them do with it what they will.

I was one for supporting Leona - if she wants to leave her $ to her pet dog - so be it. It's her money to do with what she wants. She didn't OWE any money to her kids/grandkids - didn't <span style="font-style: italic">have</span> to leave them a cent - they weren't entitled to it - tho, that <span style="font-style: italic">would </span>have been the kind, decent thing to do.

Me - I'd just want to give thanks I'm healthy, learn my lesson and move on - with my ample $600 million. Just me ...

why not from javits centre to the cloisters more people could appreciate it

I don't know what you mean by craven...you can lose it all in one day and you and your dependants will be left wanting. Trust me I know.

They cart them off athights and warnthem that of they get back they will be arrested . That is usually after they photograph and take theri names. Up here the police actually take the to the bordr ofmthe rtopwn with the shelter.and leave tyem. Ther was a bogmfight between thetownas about it. They even send people from theior community tyhat becomes homeless away too. Itis a shame, a person van't be homeless in their own neighborhood.
