seriously though neutral, also look at the role of twitter and facebook that was played and is being played.

we are watching technology come smack up against entrenched forces that are probably not prepared to deal with the onset of these unpredictable and powerful avenues of personal communication. NPR was also discussing the strategy the protestors were using to set up the protests- via twitter, facebook and txt mssgs.

Well I don't know about the revolution advances, I think by now significant number of Iranians wants to see a less more secular, republic with the Leaders held accountable.
Over time Revolutions mature and the progressive maturity of the Iranian Revolution had been held in check by the USA attitude towards Iran under the USA regimes of recent vintage, while the thinking Iranian people inside and outside of Iran have moved ahead some.

There are serious implications if the Leadership of Iran continue to use violence and bloodshed to subdue the protesters. In Iraq for instance, the biggest sponsor of Shia Forces is Iran. When the USA leaves there is sure to be a Civil War between Shia and Sunni. A weakened Iran will lose control and create a vacuum, that will be filled in some fashion that might not be in Iran's best interests.

Another potential fallout is with Iran's partners. Pretty soon Iranians and their supporters will start to target the companies and Governments who provide/d technology, arms and advice to the Iranian State and they might find it impractical to continue to do business with Iran no matter how lucrative the operation is.

I'm curious to know how the Iranian diaspora in other Arab countries are acting...

Some analysts have already noted there was definitely- in their opinion- civil war in Iraq. Further to this, I was just reading about one of the imminent pullouts being scheduled, and the Iraqis in this town were freaking out for just that reason...they wanted the americans to remain out of fear of the armed forces and the sh!t hitting the fan when they take over for the americans.

Iran is in a pretty crazy state- clearly this election was fraudulent, I mean if you are going to steal an election though, why create such a big lie...

I just heard also that the rallying point of these protestors was already president back during the Iraq/Iran war...

So this is gonna be, as they say, very interesting.

I wonder why the American voters didn't hit the streets in protests like the Iranians?

Or maybe they did, but the media didn't report it and the SWAT teams squashed the few that ran?

Iran even with it oil reserves is in deep trouble with its infrastructure, it only stability came from it Government and now that is threatened as the protest and the crackdown continues.

I hope you are right and this is indeed a legitimate protest,I`m not so entrenched in my views on issues that side of the world not to see others viewpoints,..an iranian acquaintance of mine that I spoke to says the country has arrived where it is because of saudi arabian interference,most iranians are looking for a change but religious interference from countries like saudi arabia wants to pull the country back into secularism.
I suspect that unrest will grow bigger,and we may yet see an uncivil war brewing.

Dont know about that,all these religious divides and affiliations are just shiite to me.
