She could borrow a page from her big sister, Venus. Wimbledon and the French Open paid female tennis players less than male players, arguing that they played five sets compared to women who played three sets. Venus spoke out and wrote a letter to the Wimbledon officials. She pretty much campaigned for the cause, even enlisting the support of Tony Blair. Wimbledon announced it would pay all tennis players equally, and the French followed a few days later.

I always just assumed the the top seeded players played closer to centre court.

I think it is all about demotivating her just as they did with Michael Jackson and all other blacks who came to dominate what they consider a white bastion.
She is just there for too long now.
They believe that the viewing public will not be as alert to these machinations at thie stage of her profession.
They wanted to do it long before she was that big and they just find it convenient to do now.

I'm not sure what the truth is behind this stroy, but as a longtime Wimbledon fan, I can assure you that BOTH Serena AND Venus seem to be getting equal airtime (on TV). In fact yesterday their matches were shown consecutively, and BOTH were given sufficient airtime for commentaries - as they both come across as very intelligent opinionated women.

Given the equal TV airtime - I am guessing that there might be other strategic reasons for the court scheduling, but of course I might be wrong - and I wouldn't trust anything that the Daily Mail writes regarding black people.

There is a vested interest in putting Venus there (centre court), as she is now regarded as the "Queen of Wimbledon" - and people are now waiting to see whether the two will face each other in the finals on the weekend.

Also, from the comments that Serena has made regarding the Court no.2, it sounds like this might be proving an incentive for her to prove her worth.

- So for the person who mentioned something of Serena showing her opponent - it is veeeery likely to be against her own sister Venus in the finals.
Both very beautiful ladies by the way - and they come across as intelligent enough to know which battles are worth fighting, so I wouldn't worry about this issue affecting them too much.
