maybe the reason to fake it is that after spending those billions of 1960's $$$ they were unable to get there ...everybody saw rockets launched and capsules return..what happened in between is what is being questioned.

RichD? Returned from whence?

If you admit that real rockets were launched...
and that real capsules with real live men returned...
What are you proposing happened? Where are you proposing the capsules actually went?

If they really did achieved liftoff ... and escape velocity -
where do you think they went, if not into space, and to the moon?

If one achieves escape velocity (ie - gets out of Earth orbit), it takes <span style="font-weight: bold">no more energy</span> to effectively go an infinite distance.

If you admit that they really returned, then they obviously had enough fuel/energy to make it back off the moon and out of moon orbit (or, if you prefer to believe - just back out of moon orbit) and make it back home.

If you believe all that ^, then what stops you from believing they made it <span style="font-weight: bold">TO</span> the moon, as well??
Especially after seeing the Apollo 12 lunar module pix from moon orbit <span style="font-style: italic">after</span> the Apollo 11 mission?

Are you trying to say that they achieved escape (of earth gravitational pull) out into space, but didn't have the ability to achieve lunar orbit and/or lunar landing?

Since it required virtually no additional energy expenditure, once out into space just outside of earth orbit, to achieve lunar orbit (you just let yourself fall into lunar gravitational orbit, and slow down, and drop to land) -- what would the point to making it out into near space and then turning around again without going to the moon?

It's not a money issue. The money was already spent.
It's not a failure issue, or they wouldn't have made it back alive.

So... what sensible non-paranoid issue <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">is</span></span> it that you propose?

Please explain.

You'll be surprised to know that quite a few have. But they don't have a voice in mainstream media. What they have to say ends up in places labelled 'conspiracy theory'.

Watch the astronaut's feet! <span style="font-style: italic">THAT</span>'s where the TRUTH is!

Unnu are looking at the wrong thing to verify if it's done in atmosphere or not.
If it's not done in atmosphere - then it must be <span style="font-weight: bold">not on Earth</span>... and if not on earth, where else but the moon? (since they said it was the moon AND since they could not have traveled to any other planet in that little amount of time)

Watch the astronauts' feet. When they jump, note carefully that the moon dust drops straight back down to the lunar surface OR when they shuffle their feet to walk, the moon dust travels in parabolic arcs - as is expected in 1/6th of Earth's gravity. If this was on Earth, the dust would billow... like it does if unnu try it in unnu yards. On Earth, dust billows when dropped off of one's feet or kicked.

Did none of unnu take public school science classes?
Or have all of unnu forgotten whatever unnu learned in school?

I forgot to impart this tidbit of knowledge, too:

I have, like I said before.

Astronauts back then were specifically trained NOT to jump any higher than toes-just-off-ground in low-G ... and with very good reason: <span style="font-weight: bold">If they jumped higher and accidentally twisted a bit in their fall, they'd end up falling on their backpack or suit, and the potential ensuing damage to backpack or suit c/would mean instant death to them.</span>

Let's recall that those space suits were very fragile, not like today's space suits. One tear would mean death to the astronaut. Damage to his backpack could mean death to him. I wouldn't even have let my toes leave lunar surface, personally!

Remember how the men walked hunched forwards on the moon?
It's so they could maintain their center of balance and not fall over backwards onto their fragile life-sustaining backpack.

I really wish I could be as happily ignorant of aerospace engineering science as some of unnu, because some of unnu lead much more interesting lives in unnu's suspicions.
