I tried stopping once, but that only lasted one summer.

Businesses, financial transactions, companies – are SUPPOSED to accept the copies from your bank, or digital version, etc, etc.

Supposed to.

But I’ve come across 2 different occasions in my life over the past 3 years, where the agency / company I was dealing with, outright refused to accept anything but, the original cancelled check.

For one of them, I even provided a notarized letter from the bank stating that they should be able to accept the bank’s copy, online whatsitnot, digital whatever, of the check. They refused.

I ran it all the way up the flag pole – with each company, they still refused.

Only when each and every bank in the industry, no longer provides the cancelled check, will people let you supply the copy from the bank, I guess.

Even if I had the choice, I’d still get the paper check back – I just like it – just a preference.

I guess I am OK cause me nuh really write checks anymore. But is something to think about fi di future if me a do one important transaction dat need a check.

Similar with automatic bill pay Pepper.

I’m waaaaay old school.

I don’t do it.

My sister has her bills paid automatically – having them deducted from her bank account.

TWICE now, the cable company (who did it twice) and her power company, double dipped her account.

It took almost 2 months to get the situation correct.

I do online bill pay - but I don't do the automatic deduction - I go and pay each one individually and I save the confirmation page from each transaction.

Never had any issues

Some 1,000 Public Service Electric and Gas customers <span style="color: #FF0000">have been overcharged since March due to a computer glitch, the company confirmed Friday.

A new customer information system and website that allows customers to pay online resulted in some payments being duplicated</span>, according to PSE&amp;G spokeswoman Bonnie Sheppard. One day 650 people were affected, she said.

Mike Morris, a PSE&amp;G customer from Rutherford, said <span style="color: #FF0000">he noticed earlier this week that more than $1,200 was missing from his checking account</span>.

&quot;This new computer system is taking money left and right,'' Morris said. ''We're always told that our online transactions are safe and secure.''

In most cases charges were reversed before customers were even aware of the problem, Sheppard said in an e-mailed statement. Refund checks have been issued and the problem has been resolved, she said.

Morris said he got his money back three days after the error was discovered. But he said he plans to cancel his automatic payment plan.

&quot;They're gonna be getting written checks from now on,'' Morris said.

I don't do auto deduct. Is me one fi go inna my account and tek out money.

I pay most bills with auto pay on my Amex. What doesn't go through Amex, I do online bill pay. Me ungle really use checks fi my church donations, and dem have online set-up. Me just nuh ready fi accept going online fi gi money at church.

OMG When someone showed me this site.. I was amazed that so much information was out there..

The Only reason I did not get so mad, was because I found some &quot;UNCLAIMED PROPERTY&quot; in my maiden name.. turned out to be quite substantial on an insurance policy that my dad had eons ago.. sitting there since who know when.. I only changed my maiden name 20 years ago and my dad died when I was 15 years old.. don't know why they could not find me..bet there were making a lot of interest off that money, and I got none of it.. just what the policy was worth.. almost had to give them a blood sample to prove who I was..

At any rate, I digress.. but I would put any and all names that you have used.. not just your current one.

But this site does give out all your business.. even to the point of showing how much you paid for your house and some more stuff..

You can also get this info at PropertyShark.com.

We used this site <span style="font-weight: bold">a lot</span> while were were house hunting. I was shocked that our realtor (and she's good) wasn't familiar with it.

It just takes the place of one going down to the town's clerk's office and doing a manual search.

Almost every major metro area is there - you just need that address of the property.

It tells you the last sale price, name on deed, last period's property taxes, etc.

Anytime we got close to making an offer on something we liked, we always checked here first to see what they paid for the house and when.

yep....they recently had a documentatry of all the banks fraudelent activities and it was amazing what was going on, and the worst part is, the banks said they will just absorb the losses instead of wasting money to investigate~
