i was not very concerned about all the issue that came up in this thread. maybe i was a very simple country pickney but mi never tink bout all these things.

i remeber once my granny buy a real baby chimese(sp) a red one and a real baby nappi di cloth one gimme wid two pins. i was in heaven. and mi use to put dem inna pan wash dem and hang dem up pan line

she would get scrap fabric from the dress maker and mi would sew all kinda little ill fitting clothes for my baby.

i even had a little pink stroller for my baby an mi would walk go a shop wid mi baby

i had the different color baby bottle one represent juice one is milk etc....my new born baby use to have a hole in the cratch and two secon after u feed it done it pisssss u up

can we please allow the children to be children. </div></div>

we can allow children to be children but what other people do you know of would accept anything that outside forces force-feed their children?
why do we have to sign off on everything the corporate machine says we should give our children...
young minds are the most impressionable and i can look back now and see how some of the things i ingested as a child led to my previous brain-washed state;
the media is powerful and we need to scrutinize the information our children get...
a people in our position should definitely think twice about the things we allow our children to consume...
and believe it or not i have nothing against dolls...just the wrong kinds of dolls...just like i don't allow my daughters to play with those hooker-in-training looking 'brats' dolls;

what i am saying is (and i could be wrong but this is my view) i dont think the girls read into it as much as we think they do.

i dont think they really analyze the dolls that much. they just want to play house.

what is important though is the lifestyle mommy and daddy live....that is the kinda of house they gonna play.

that woman in the video believe seh the dolls reflect her reality then so be it. find a doll that reflect your reality and if none not out there den mek ur own.

i had a cousin who was poor and did have ne barbies. she taught me how to make a doll using empty soda bakkle and grass and a sharpie marker. and let me tell u we had fun with those dolls

I see Vegas point (not often do I agree with her) ... I had some real sketel dolly when mi growing up and is not so them buy them but I gave them a multitude of piercings and every week they wore a different weave (we had a hair dresser friend) and some short and tight up close that we made for them. I had no desire to look like them and I've never had my hair straightened either but my dolls looked good dem make fi wear weave not me. I probably would buy my daughter these dolls anyway since I dont see them as representative of her and I would buy her white dolls too ... Children learn more from what their parents practice anyway.
