Give every Adult Jamaican with no criminal record the right training on how to use, carry and store a gun for their own self defense. Once they have demonstrated they have the proper training then allow them to legally purchase a weapon.

You really think that is feasable? you know how many adult criminals I know with no criminal record? or functioning mentally unstable people? or violent alcoholics?

I don't think arming society is the answer (personally)

A &quot;zero-tolerance&quot; policy? Problem with this is that in Jamaica's situation, this will lead to increased rates of incarceration of already impoverished persons.

Let me ask: if you are to break down the murders in Jamaica to their causes or supposed causes, what would we find? What percentage are due to gang violence; how many are drug related; murder accompanied with theft or armed robbery; how many are second-degree? Is this kind of info available?
