thank you Wendy. the old gender and racial double standards are flying around and about when it comes to Oprah. the woman has been a trailblazer in so many ways, and her philanthropy has been outstanding. but some people get so petty in their attitudes to her. god forbid a black woman should be so open with her power (which she has earned).

i wish her the very best. i hear she is going to launch OWN, Oprah Winfrey Network, and continue to produce films.

Personally I hate that people use that term - “breed” - in reference to women being or getting pregnant.

Even worse – when people use the line about how “that’s our culture” “that’s our Jamaican culture” “ah juss suh wi talk”.

Yes - she'll cont. to be busy with many, many endeavors: school in Africa <span style="font-style: italic">(and others that she supports in Chicago)</span>, the magazine, etc.

I personally have been witness to some of that philanthropy.

When I actually stood in a house that the Angel Network built in the lower 9th ward, I was overwhelmed.

MGEe .. A di fuss mi eva feel soh bad fi smaddy mi nat even know. Particulary because mi know how hard Oprah work fi mek it and never forget where she came from. Always a look out fi har fellow women and MEN alike. It grieves mi bad.
