but to answer the quest...no! i do not make racial slurs to ppl. we all have our issues, some tied in racism and others tied in prejudice, but you take it toooo far when you deny a man work and means to feed his family cuz you dont like his religion....dats personal problems there!

Somehow he thinks he's justified. That's what makes it so scary... </div></div>thing is it happens waaaaaaaay more than people realize, just that the average person is more discreet about it. When I worked as a recruiter I had a young muslim lady looking for a job in the O&G industry. She wore the Hijab (head scarf) but her face was not covered, and everything else about her attire was business professional.

every interview or temp job assignment I sent her to the response was "it is not working out" from the employer. And I just couldn't figure out what I was missing as far as matching skill set. Until one "old boy" called me and ripped me a new one for thinking that they could have one of those bleepity bleep bleeps working in their office.

Worked for some good ol boys who always felt comfortable enough to tell me what they thought of Jews, Asians and 'Some' blacks.

Yeah they always quantified the blacks. ~lol~

However, I was never one to hold my tongue about their warped opinions, but still they felt free enough to tell me just the same...

I never laughed about it, never thought it was 'harmless', never just accepted it as being 'a jus so dem stay'...

But still they'd tell me some messed up ish...

For eg.: My boss, back in the nineties, said about a Jewish man who was being buried I believe two days after he had died, "I think they bury them that quickly cause they stink so much faster." or words to that effect.

He wasn't talking to me, but he knew I was in earshot and he'd made no effort to disguise his sentiment.

I told him that that was possibly the most ignorant thing I had ever heard and he was incredibly stupid for voicing it, not to mention thinking it.

He just shrugged and carried on his conversation...

On a side note ...

Was talking with some people recently and somebody used the term “oriental” to describe someone.

Basically he’d gone for an interview and was telling us about it. He got to the reception and he told us:
<span style="font-style: italic">
“... an Oriental woman took my paperwork and asked me if I wanted some water while I waited ...”</span>

I mentioned that calling someone of Asian descent Oriental was wrong/not the best choice of words/offensive, etc.

Have mercy.

I’ve always been taught that oriental should be used when referring to objects, not people.

They told me I was being too politically correct.

Notice how in life when YOU’RE the one receiving the slight, all hell has to break loose.

But when someone tells you that you’re being insensitive, you label them as trying to be too politically correct.

And I don’t even know WHY, in telling the story, one would need to MENTION the woman’s ethnicity/race/heritage ... ?

i work in an enviroment with all races...but the industry is mostly while male dominated!...so as far as the "good ole boys" I must say they dont tend to spill that type of nonsence openly. Like i said, ususally in circles they know its accepted! or acceptable!
