If you are legally residing in the US with a green card and a Jamaican passport would you be afraid to travel out side of the US?

Re: Green Card holders
Depends on what the person's 'history' looks like.
Also, if the person has a 'history', US citizenship does not matter. The note on the certificate says something about it being property of the US gov't and can be confiscated by gov't at anytime.
If they don't want you to re-enter, regardless of what paperwork you hold, you can be denied entry.
Naturalized citizens have a little more leeway than GC holders, but there is a very large grey area between the two.

Re: Green Card holders
Everyone I know who is a green card holder travel outside the US just about every year and more than once per year. They have nothing to be afraid of and re-entry to the US has never been an issue.
Pepper what do you mean by a 'little history'? Do you mean smaddy who has a criminal record?

Re: Green Card holders
but are we sure there wasnt more to the confiscation? hundreds of jamaicans travel back and forth each week, but only a couple G.C's get pulled here and there. I would bet that there are other reasons why the holders lost their cards.

actually you are targeted in some areas of this country you do not necessarily have to have comitted a crime simple things like the number of times you travel and the length of times on these vacations raise red flags for us, it shouldn't but a fi dem country and dem can raise dem eyebrows if dem wish.

Re: Green Card holders
JD - stop going by rumor, or what you heard or what someone told you 2nd hand. If you don't know someone's complete and total immigration background/detail, you can't base a decision or judgment or action, on someone else's situation.
Believe it or not, I've worked with many, too many people, who don't even know their OWN immigration situation!
Generally speaking, the immigration system in the US is actually not always that complex a process. It's been my experience that too often, it's we our very own selves, sheg up the situation.

Let me explain with 2 examples - an old one and a new one...</span>
