i did read it on CNN that she had some kind of heart surgery a couple of days ago. But it is Star and she doesnt interest me too tough. Actually, I thought ur thread was to say she died from it

THE POINT IS - <span style="font-size: 17pt">IN MY OPINION </span> since we ARE on a Jamaican site I don't see a problem with saying it. It is even MORE relevant if being said in America.

I'm gonna have to say to you that it is a &quot;Black &quot; thang and you wouldn't understand....on the other hand perhaps it is an archaic thing that SHOULD go away...but oh well, over the centuries, it hasn't so be it.


As to what I persoanlly would like to be referrred to ?? Seveen will get a big laugh out of this one. I was just on the phone a thon with Marielle and had to spend the first few minutes explaining to her that I'm not WHITE Now do I WANT to be called white?? HELL NO, but it happens.
Here in Memphis I am referred to as either &quot;high yellow&quot; , or &quot;red boone.&quot; These are tmers that BLACK folks use when talking amonst themselves. We DO IT here in MEMPHIS and it is part of MY culture, and YOU can't dictate that or change it.


Not to let you in on ALL of the family secrets, but amongst US, there are SOME who will only date certain &quot;shades&quot; because they have a preference (and I mean they NEVER vary from it).. Miss Star likes em like this ya know... it's her choice, I am quite the opposite. I'm a darker the berry sweeter the juice girl myself.

It's often like that in the community. Used to have to do with producing a certain kind of looking child (though ain't nothing popping outta here anymore).


You ever watched that Jamaica video Rappunzell?? If not, go watch it again, you will learn a lot about this issue in the black community.
