Eyewitnesses report that Al looked bored throughout the entire event (especially the reception), was testy and impatient during the limo ride, and you see he was nowhere around when she almost died having that breast lift.

Would that over the centuries this would have gone away, but it has not, and I doubt that it ever will. It's just to deeply engrained in the culture and the fabric...it's ugly and it rears it's head often....there have been many many many discussions even on this board about it.

Here's a fact , Star is a chocolate sister who married a high yellow gay man, much like Terri Mc Millan did, and come April 8th I know a girl who is making the same mistake...but ish happens.

Star Jones rise to fame is fascinating...i guess...but i really don't give a damn who she married and how long it lasted, whether he was straight, gay, bi, black, yellow or white.

really doesn't effect me in my day to day life.

Yeah I figured you would say that, and in essence you are correct, but I guess I'm just a tiny bit angry with Miss Star for being so openly transparent and opening a sister up to look so damn stupid.

So in watching it there were many different dynamics in place, and as you know these are TRUE events, not fiction. Anyway, the white settlers, having to exit that part of Africa left the powerr, money and control in the hands of the sect that look the closest to white features. This immediately pit one tribe against the other based on appearance, power, prvilage, wealth, intelligence,social order, the haves, and have nots.....all of those people killed over WHAT?????

But the revelevance to this thread is that thread that has run from the choice of house negroes, quadroon, octoroon, mulatto....whatever that has run through us for years, it is a lot depper than me pointing out that Al Reynoletta (Reynolds)is in fact YELLOW, hell I'm yellow for that matter, ask me if I WANT to be yellow...hell no, but it wasn''t my choice.

I'm gonna have to say to you that it is a &quot;Black &quot; thang and you wouldn't understand....on the other hand perhaps it is an archaic thing that SHOULD go away...but oh well, over the centuries, it hasn't so be it.


As to what I persoanlly would like to be referrred to ?? Seveen will get a big laugh out of this one. I was just on the phone a thon with Marielle and had to spend the first few minutes explaining to her that I'm not WHITE Now do I WANT to be called white?? HELL NO, but it happens.
Here in Memphis I am referred to as either &quot;high yellow&quot; , or &quot;red boone.&quot; These are tmers that BLACK folks use when talking amonst themselves. We DO IT here in MEMPHIS and it is part of MY culture, and YOU can't dictate that or change it.


Not to let you in on ALL of the family secrets, but amongst US, there are SOME who will only date certain &quot;shades&quot; because they have a preference (and I mean they NEVER vary from it).. Miss Star likes em like this ya know... it's her choice, I am quite the opposite. I'm a darker the berry sweeter the juice girl myself.

It's often like that in the community. Used to have to do with producing a certain kind of looking child (though ain't nothing popping outta here anymore).
