They should at least get the info straight.
The water cannot carry diseases since all the water has to go through treatment plant where it is chorinated.
And the bugs that cause diseases do not survive chlorine.

There is no water shortage in Jamaica. There still export water to cruise vessels on a weekly basis.

After viewing part one &amp; two of this video I am in amazement of how this could happen to an island with so many natural springs....I am terrified as to the future of how Jamaica is going to handle this severe water shortage. It has not affected me on the north coast but I know things are really bad in Kgn.

It has been like that in Kingston for over a century.

The Larger resovior was actually privately owned.

Since there was never any motivation in the history of the Jamaican government to solve real problems.

Neither does it create infrastructure based on future projection.
It functions on the principles of 'cricis management'.

In other words, it manage on the basis of of current crisis.
No crisis: no management. ... Present crisis: minimal interventions.
Jamaica has always been a farm colony.

It has always invest only enough to support that function.

Although it is suppose to be independent, that is not any deeper than words in the majority of cases.
And certainly not at the level where it counts.

It would appear that it is from one extreme to the other. If this keeps up, Kingston will be flooded tonight - if it isn't already flooded.

Is a pity they don't have catchment facilities to save some of the water that us going to rush into the Caribbean.
.A a down right shame.

Not only on the government, but the so-called educated, who pride themselves in their superior intellect.

Yet the don't recognize some of the basic infrastructures required to support a civilized society.
They Also display a complete lack of awareness of the responsibilities of an educated electorate to influence government policies.
It is a shame.

At the rate they are going,it will only need an incident less than the earthquake that hit Haiti to place The country on the same social and economic plane as Haiti.
It is a downright shame.

<span style="font-size: 11pt">To answer a question....the tourist facilities I have visited in my last 3 visits show NO sign of a water shortage.... That being said, I have no idea how this is possible or why it is possible if things are this bad....however... as stated many times. TOURISM is one of the countries life lines, and the MAJOR &quot;industry&quot; in Jamaica. Many tourists, especially you first time visitors (you only get one chance to make a first impression), can't deal with the occasional rolling black out, or low water pressure at some resorts (to even some days you can turn on the shower and nothing comes out tempoorarily, this is usually corrected fairly quickly though). Once when spending a month in Ochii, the water workers went on stirke, and for 4 days we hauled water from the swimming pool to up the stairs of the hill to flush the toilet.

We didn't mind because we felt the cause of the workers was worthwhile. When we finally got a good rain, I went on the roof and took a shower in the fresh rain water.

I say none of this to negate the seriousness of this situation for people living in Jamaica. I have a friend in Kingston who told me she is paying some pretty stiff fees for private water, but still paying the public bill for water and receiving none.

You knew the answer to this Blu when you asked it. The powers that be are seeing to it that the tourism industry does not suffer through this if at all possible. When this is over (and hoping that it will be, mother nature has really been making herself known these days), the tourism industry, like it or not, will still remain Jamaica's #1 money maker. Disappoint those tourist who can't adapt to S, and they won't come back, will spread the word, will get on the internet and bash the whole country, and recommend that their friends just skip Jamaica.

So everything Criss in tourist land, if not in the land of wood and water... and as Walter Cronkite used to say... and that's the way it is.

Jamaica has always been operated as a colony.

Did it ever change it's economic policy?

Incidentally for those who are not aware if this fact

They function by a strategy of using countries they weaken as a source of cheap raw materials and skilled labor to maintain the standard of living in the country that is in control of the weakened one.</span>

So the majority if the properties that were sold,those large plantations and beachfront properties were always owned by those who have always invest just enough to achieve the best crop.

And they use to export the products of the plantations and never repatriated the income from it.

So what is new?

Jamaica was not sold out by Jamaicans.

It was door out by those who always own Jamaica.

It is simply continuing to operate as it has always done


The only difference istgat it is more obvious when it is in tourism.

I hope you are praying for adequate catchment facilities.

Since Jamaica's problem is one if poor water management.

It have an abundance if water.

It only lacking in adequate storage fscillities to take care of the extended period when there is little or no rain.

You Gould also pray That They solve the flooding problems when it rains too.
Since in So societies where spropriate water management is instutuded, it is usually appropriately done by program that include flood control strategies.

In other words,they save a lot of the water That would have been inundating the place.

And have UT in the times when the rain is not as regular.
They also include irrigation facillities to complete the program to.
So pray wisely.
