Summer of 1992 was pretty cold and damp. It was my first meeting with my Dad in south Ontario. Also was my first Canadian visit in decades.
The days were mostly gray, wet and cold.

We didn't get summer last year. We wore long underwear and winter jackets, complete with winter hats and gloves, to the Bayfront Blues Festival on the second week of August. Gardens were stunted, frost came early, and all the truck farmers suffered huge losses.

So far this Spring is stellar, but that cold year in the 1800's took a year to happen. People freezing to death cold in summer.

yup the airlines are feeling pressure from stranded passengers as well as lost sales. no thanks i'll stay where i am its not that important

I'm sure they are management pilots who were &quot;persuaded&quot; by the upper management
to go up and try a ting since de company loosing so much cheese.

According to the news, some of the 'test' flights sent in by some british airlines, came back with a 'cautious' positive.

The engineers examined the engines and found that any damage caused by the ash was just minor so they've decided to chance it and start releasing aircrafts today or tomorrow...

I think the fact that they're reportedly losing something like $200MIL a day is the motivating factor...

I wonder how many airlines are going to be able to survive this???

The earth is a closed system.. It became closed ages ago.... The system is always in balance.. It moves to mainatin this balance Part of this is the arrogance of humanity in granting man kind supremasy in the system.. At the center of this is the ego of religion...

I am amazed by the system.. listening to cosmologists, paleonotlogists, metrologists, sedimentologists, geologists with their perspective of the planet which excludes humans and plants from the system has always fasinated me.. It amazes me when I can keep up with them, a simple yardie who did not finish grade 2... I still recall when I saw my first shell in marl hole in the cockpit country.. blew me away and began the journey of destroying the fundamentals of christianity...


The system reacts to maintain equilibrium.. on the plantary scale it is a beautful process.. Each action is simple. It bodes well to remember that the crust of the planet is less than 1% of the plannet in its entirity and thus the consequences of activity on the planet surface from a planetary perspective is minimal...

while the volume of the atmosphere is greater than the solid part of the planet.. The mass of the planet is far greater.. We should be more aware of the what is below us....

I mentioned this before, but in the 70's there was a dip in world wide temperatures due to volcanic activiey, then it was postulated that if the activity continued within 100 years we would have anotehr ice age.. As forgottten as this is it was postulated to fill the earth with green house gasses to maintain it possible for human habitation.. This was the first mention of tgreen house gasses... The consequence of an ice age is a die off... however if this continues for 2 years there will be a dip in temperature across the globe that will have major impacts in terms of oil prices alone.. more oil to be burnt..

Examine the clastic flows in the North Atlanic (the way the volcanic rock was laid down in the Faroes and off ireland) does suggest that a long term volcanic event could be multi generational. Even if this volcano does not induce any other volcanic flows, the continous volcanic activity at this level for 20 years will impact climatic condions in multiple integrated manner...

Green house gasses seems to be forgotten at the moment, but imagine how much water vapour (water vapour is a green house gas) has been induced into the atmosphere aswell as the release of c02 and methane by the explosion.. will iceland have to pay for the amount of green house gas that it now produces ?

Here is an inetesting perspective.. in geological time the poles of the planet switched. This appears to be cyclic.. What would happen if polarity inversts suddenly ???? Would our electrical systems function ? would silicate chips still function ?

Hell what do I know, at least 4 pople on here call me stupid.. and an idiot!

Holy crayola!! Thanks for the pics- it look so depressing. So are the ppl in Iceland going on w/ life as usual unda di cloud? Is this thing in a remote area and the ash only affecting farm animals? Or u can be ina regular city and di ashes a crapeup u troat?
