Say Tivoli Barricades are cleared today without violence and Dudus is handed over from whatever undisclosed location he is in what next?

We wait for Bruised to insert himself into another minor affair and screw it up? There are better Leaders in the JLP and I think they should do Jamaica a favour and let this guy walk or bring down the whole Government.

As it is I think the Government is already compromised and fresh Elections would be a better path to restoration.

Golding has compromised himself and his entire party with this issue. He has not only lost capital over the extradition issue he is now carrying a negative balance. He needs a big winner and I don't see one on the table. It is a damned shame - who would have thought Portia was more politically astute than Bruce. Bruce stepped in it big time and even with the apology he is spinning his wheels and digging himself deeper into a hole. Dudus will likely not go quietly and there will be blood on the streets of Kingston. The MPP/extradition issue has to be fully investigated and when that happens the fully revealed truth will likely not be favorable to Golding or the JLP. I don't really see how Golding and the JLP can coast it out the next 2+ years. They need a big winner to overshadow this scandal and one does not appear to be on the horizon.

As usual you are talking nonsense, conflating issues and just plain lying. First of All Eli Tisona problems came after Spring Plain. Eli Tisona was never convicted of trafficking drugs from Jamaica.

Secondly The Shower Posse was started in the USA by Jamaicans who had been living in the USA for over a decade. Jim Brown joined the Shower Posse after it was started. The Shower Posse was not a Labour Party gang but a gang who top generals were supporters of the Jamaica Labour Party. there is an important distinction.

FORMER NATIONAL Security Minister Dr Peter Phillips has suggested that the Government may have 'prepared the wicket' for Christopher 'Dudus' Coke's court defence.

Coke, who has been accused by the United States of drug smuggling and gunrunning, is fighting extradition proceedings in court as a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

<span style="font-weight: bold">But Phillips has said the events leading to the Government's decision to sign an authority to proceed against him may be part of a wider plot to prevent Coke from being extradited</span>.

&quot;The way in which it has been done has not only the potential of prejudicing the court hearing, because if he filed an affidavit a few days ago to say that it was not valid, and then proceeds on the course that he is proceeding - I don't know how the courts will look at it: but whether by design originally or whether by chance, what he has done is prepared the case for Mr Coke and could contribute to further delay,&quot; Phillips said.

Breach of constitutional rights

Justice Minister Dorothy Lightbourne on Tuesday signed an order to proceed with extradition proceedings against Coke, days after a defiant Golding insisted that it would have been a breach of Coke's constitutional rights as material being used as evidence against him was illegally obtained.

Lightbourne and Golding have said that there were serious constitutional issues with the request because the US had breached the Interception of Communication Act, a law which specifies the circumstances under which a citizen's constitution rights to privacy can be invalidated.

Coke's attorney, Tom Tavares-Finson, who has turned over responsibility in the extradition case to Paul Beswick and Jacqueline Samuels-Brown, has already indicated his client would be challenging the order on the basis that Lightbourne and Golding have already declared that they needed further and better particulars and that the wiretapping evidence obtained against him was illegally sourced.

The parliamentary Opposition has consistently argued that Lightbourne should have sent the matter immediately to court and let it determine the admissibility of the evidence. However, Golding said the justice minister is &quot;not a lubricated conduit&quot;.

&quot;The minister of justice, in authorising extradition proceedings, has a duty to satisfy herself that they conform with the provisions of Jamaican law. As minister and, especially, as attorney general, she cannot authorise processes which she knows to be in violation of Jamaican law,&quot; Golding told Parliament on March 2.

Golding also said that he was prepared to pay a political price for his stance and that he was determined to establish that &quot;constitutional rights do not begin at Liguanea&quot;, where the US Embassy is headquartered in Jamaica.

However, under public pressure, Lightbourne went to court seeking a declaration on her powers under the Extradition Act but the case folded as the presiding judge released the persons Lightbourne listed as defendants.

Phillips said Tuesday there were many questions which arose in relation to how the extradition issue was treated. He said he found it strange that Golding has &quot;easily adjusted&quot; his principled stance as &quot;it was a matter which he was prepared to die politically for&quot;.

THE police high command said this morning that they have information that residents of Tivoli Gardens <span style="font-weight: bold">are in possession of the 50-calibre Grizzly Big Boar sniper rifle.</span>
In addition, the police said they have information that the residents have also stockpiled petrol.


<span style="font-weight: bold">US gun manufacturer LAR Manufacturing said on its website that the Grizzly Big Boar is a rifle “that leaves its competition in the dust”.

“Its powerful .50 calibre BMG round blows its targets to pieces,” the site says.</span>

“The police are appealing to all law abiding residents of the affected areas (mainly Tivoli Gardens and Denham Town) to call the police if they need assistance. The police are also appealing to these residents to report any acts of criminality and are assuring these citizens that they have nothing to fear from the presence of the security forces as we intend to conduct our operations in a professional manner in accordance with the law and in the interest of all concerned,” a police news release issued today said.

The Jamaica Police High Command is reporting that they have uncovered some very sinister plans by gunmen in Tivoli Gardens who are seeking to block the security forces from entering the community.

“Gunmen are now placing tires atop the roof of several high-rise buildings in Tivoli Gardens and are also storing gasoline nearby,” said the police.

<span style="font-weight: bold">The police believe the intention is to start massive fires on top of these buildings to ward off helicopters. </span>

However, in an attempt at a peaceful resolution, the Police High Command says it has written to a number of attorneys who they believe to be part of Mr Coke’s defense team.

<span style="font-weight: bold">The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre understands that in those letters the Police have proposed that Mr Coke turn himself in on the condition that bail will be granted. </span>

Mr Coke is wanted in the United States on guns and drugs charges.

Tensions have been mounting in his Tivoli Gardens base since Monday when Attorney General Dorothy Lightbourne signed off on the United States request for his extradition.

Shortly after the extradition request was signed, Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Paula Llewellyn secured an arrest warrant which was handed over to the police on Tuesday.

Since then several roads in the community have been blocked by residents who are trying to bar the police from entering.

Reports are that not only are the PNP thugs willing to allow the JLP men passage through their communities if necessary, but they have also taken up arms in preparation of an expected fight against the security forces.

HUNDREDS of angry residents from Tivoli Gardens and Denham Town took to the streets in protest this morning, insisting that, despite police information, they were not being held hostage in their communities.

“A lie them a tell,” said one woman who formed part of a large group of around 400 angry protesters who gathered in front of the Denham Town Police Station.


The action from the residents came a day after police reports that residents were being held hostage inside Tivoli and Denham Town and that their phones had been confiscated.

&quot;See it deh we can come out. A lie them a tell say we held hostage and them take way we phone. See we phone deh,&quot; said one woman before jumping over debris used to block one of the entrances to the area.

The residents said they were prepared to die for don Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke.

<span style="font-weight: bold">And this afternoon, hundreds of the residents marched around downtown Kingston to voice their disgust with the hostage reports. </span>

<span style="font-weight: bold">Dressed in white, they cried for justice as they said the police were casting the area don in a bad light.</span>

&quot;We want justice. A lie them a tell. A false news them a spread. We can come out. We are not being held hostage,&quot; said a spokesman for the crowd which reached more than 500 strong.

The marchers walked from the police station to Gordon House and then back on to Spanish Town Road.
