My point is that they should also be actively engaged in speaking up for people who suffer at the hands of gunmen and who deserve to see justice done. The clear up rate for murders is appallingly low...imagine something happen to someone you care about and you have to wait years to see justice done if at all.

If you see these licensed murders carrying out their duties You tend to behave as if you support them as s means of self preservation.

No you have to look on those statements in context he had just stabbed a woman to death and stabbed her friend who tried to stop him so I am sure the crowd wasn't feeling much compassion for him.......

It`s plain as ABC. Most police do not wish to go to court. They end it then and there especially if the people present wish to rid the suspect just as well.
Jamaica has one of the highest incidents of police murders in the world. More than 200 Jamaicans were victims in 2009.
The human rights advocate group, JFS Jamaicans For Justice have been lobbying long and hard on deaf ears against police excesses.
How can a civilized state have protection from agents of the state who disregard the law and take it up in their own hands with impunity.

I have heard this non-argument over and over before, and this is so strange. They are not an organization seeking political office - they have no obligation to speak to anything beyond their mission. So what is their role? So their focus is on helping the citizenry to look towards the very people who stand IN the name of Justice, to stand FOR Justice. Is there anything wrong with that?
