Mi sey dem announce dis big event fram 2 week ago about a potluck for the entire devision. Sign up for food or donate $5 and up towards the event. Even if yuh a gi money dem still want yuh to write yuh name down wid di money amount beside it. Fine.

Smaddy carna mi ina di kitchen dis marning an sey dem noh si mi name pan di liss. Di person a entice mi fi do jerk wings (mi did bring it in for a smaller event). Soh mi sey OK mi wi consider it. Mi goh dey fi goh look pan di liss an fi all dis bloody time dem a put dis ting teggeda a only <span style="font-size: 11pt">11 people </span>have dem name up dey from dis BIG OLE division. Den a only 5 a dem pudding a dish… res a dem a money.

Di secretary is di keepa fi di liss an di fuss ting shi a ask mi is what mi cooking? (yuh si how dem tan? ) Right den an dere mi change mi mine cause dem people yah too disgusting. They had a potluck at our office the other day.....I didn't participate, but plenty people brought in food....I didn't eat since I didn't participate, but there was holeep of food left over...I'm sure there were those who full dem belly same way who didn't contribute...</span></span>

Mi raah ..tap cuss bad wod yaah Jkid. Dis place mek mi miss mi ole employer so til. Mi ole company use to have money fi entainment and outings for employees from January to Decemba ina dem budget. You gets NOTHING FREE here. Yuh would tink wid something dis big di Division heads would trow in di money fi get food.

Dem having picnic en a mont to - $25 per ticket – You heard me. Mi neva work fi no place wey charge fi company picnic. Dem all charge yuh fig oh di chrismus party. It’s a darn disgrace. Oh and Contractors are not invited to none a dem event (praise Gad fi small mercies)

We used to have big Holiday Party free, then they start charge $25; attendance dropped off, then they have pot luck (I dislike those sake a how many cats and things some people may have in the kitchen? who knows? ), now they don't bother...some few type people go to the President's house for dinner and the rest of we just celebrate in our own diverse ways!

Lord Wendy! I organized a potluck for Thanksgiving, and it was extra hard for me because I really don't believe in them lol. It doesn't sound like people got enough notice about it. You say they announced it a week and a half ago? Folks need at least a month's notice that it is coming up because their funds may have been allocated for something else for that pay period.

The company paid for the meat - turkey and ham. I had heard that you need to plan for a 1/2 pound of meat per person, but it really is a 1/2 pound of each type of meat because all the meat was gone. I heard that my grandfather used to say if ain't no food left then somebody didn't get enough.

The next thing I made sure of is that everything that was supposed to be hot was actually hot. If they didn't bring it in a crockpot then it's went in one of the foil pans with the burner under it. And all everybody needs to do is prepare a dish to serve 8 to 10 people

The final thing is that I had little folded cards in front of the dish with what it was and who prepared it. Not knowing who cooked what is the thing that has turned me off most about potlucks You never know who is nasty at home, but there really are some people I know I don't want to eat from.

It was about the same number of people that you mentioned, but I got the most popular people from each department to gather the list of who was bringing what. (Yeah, that was a bit of manipulation.)

Only thing that went wrong is that the same woman who I did not want anywhere near the food was breaking apart the honey baked ham in the pan with her bare hands soon as I turned my back. Why? I put her over checking off the dishes on the list as they came in. You don't see all these utensils? Next time, plastic gloves will be in the budget.

They are not delegating. Everything from the email announcements to the decorations needs somebody over it to make them feel important and have a vested interest in the participation of others. What you say it was about 15 contributors for 140 people? I'd call in sick that day.
