chris rock a world famous entertainer is doing a spoof about how black jamaicans don't make money off the jamaica brand...
he has a point though -- even if overly simplified...
by and large the assets of the country are in the hands of the descendants of the powered classes (read euro-jamaicans and their offspring...then later by other racial groups---with african-jamaicans at the bottom of the rung)..
the government is beholden to these money hoarders therefore has no interest in emancipating the mind of the overwhelming majority...

but garvey warned jamaica about the folly of pursuing this policy;

This Garvey quote applies to most of the politicians in Jamaica, since they have to answer to the PSOJ AND WE KNOW WHO START AND RUN THE PSOJ.

It was worse in the past, as nearly all the wealth and power was concentrated in the hands of whites and their Euro-Jamaican descendants.
This is the best we have had it since the advent of colonialism....and we need to recognize it, for it is the work, blood sweat and tears of our ancestors bearing fruit, how can we deny them their success....credit is due to them.

What decline in black enterprise?

What Chris Rock is talking about is not what Anderson is refering to, so let us not confuse small mom &amp; pop entreprenuerial retail business with large industries and the means of mass production meant for international trade.

I think you are being facetious (or is in denial) on this issue, which is not strange or new to me as I have seen it with many of my respected conscious colleague.
