hostage situation at a Branch of Juici Patties in Dowtown Kingston. Police have surrounded the building, but the gunmen are reported to have given an ultimatum to the police to leave or customers will be shot one by one. If you are in the area please post what you see and hear.

Police are indeed on the scene, with customers and staff still on the inside. It remains unclear the number of gunmen inside. OGNR will continue to minitor the situation. Three of the people held hostage at the Juici Patties restaurant downtown, Kingston have now been released.

Those released are all women.

They have since been whisked away by the police.

For more than an hour, gunmen have taken staff and customers hostage at the Juici Patties at the corner of Beckford and West streets.

It's understood that children are among those held hostage.

The number of gunmen inside the building is still not yet clear.

Confirmed: OGNR understands that the gunmen have so far released 4 hostages three women and a man, from the Juici Patties outlet in Downtown Kingston. The area surrounding Barry and West Streets have been cordoned off and not even the media is being allowed access at this point. OGNR will continue to give updates as we get them.

Update: The current hostage situation in Downtown Kingston, has caused shops and the market to close early. OGNR understands that the situation started when a group of Gunmen chased someone into the Juici Patties Store, after which shutters were drawn and an alarm raised from inside. Again it is unclear how many persons are inside and how many gunmen there are.
