do you think the governments of our world are hiding the truth?

My belief-yes. I also believe the Vatican is well aware of the excistance. As I also believe ancient civilizations were well aware.
Could you imagine- the whole religious institution would be debunked.
I also believe that alot of technology today was founded on reverse engineering.
And the Space Shuttle program is ending but NASA has not replaced the program because we have already have Top Secret technology to travel interstellar space

Your post would seem to indicate that we already have FTL drives which are essential for interstellar travel.

Current science says FTL is not possible and anything even a fraction of the speed of light while conceivable is nowhere close to a possibility given the science we know.

Were there any aliens capable of such travel they would be so superior to us that they would have made themselves known to us without fear of us doing them any harm.

Why would any advanced race exploring the universe find (somewhat) intelligent life on Earth and not stop by to study and communicate with us?

That is what intelligent beings would do and not hide out for some unknown reason.

God wouldn't allow it.

Faster than light is only based on our knowledge of science anf theory.
whos to say that (i believe there is life elsewhere in the universe) that some other form of intelligent life has a much cleare understanding of the universe- ie wormholes.

lets reverse the role--as humans, eventually we gain the understanding and technology to move throughout our universe. we find a planet with a less intelligent life form.
wouldnt one of our rules be not to interfere -do you think we would just land there and say ' hey, were from Earth---would you like some diseases" kind of like the Christopher Columbus effect. I think with our knowledge we justifiably could not interfere. And any intelligent life form who may be visiting and observing us-by our proven history wouldnt come anywhere nearus because humans are destructive.

Seriously.. standing in the hills at nights watching these strange lights come from high in the sky decend to ground below me at Elim... or then ten minutes later climb back up in the sky and return from whence they came.....Similar lights came in and decended near salt pond....

I seen a UFO in northern Idaho once...to this day i cant explain it but it scared the crap out of me and gave me goosebumps...I was near Bonners Ferry Idaho on Hwy#2 near to kootenai National Forestin the wee morning hours..this thing followed my truck and took off. it lit up in blu lites and lit up the whole forest and road and it humme. all the gauges in my truck went stupid and my clock got messed up

There is no bigger fan of science fiction than me and along with the fiction I have read a lot of facts.
Consider that some planets and solar systems are much older and much younger than ours are. Consider also that they are many many light years away.

The chance of an intelligent race evolving relatively near us at the same time is minute. They could have dropped by a hundred thousand years ago which is a very small number of years in the billions that the universe has existed and not found many signs of intelligent life.

The fact is that all these alien sightings, UFOs of late coincide with the movies about such things of recent times.

I call it wishful or imaginative thinking to imagine that unexplained fiery phenomena such as ball lightning are piloted or controlled by extraterrestrials.

Wormholes are a theory worked up to explain things not understood. There is no evidence that they exist and while non-interference may well be Star Trek philosophy it runs counter to the investigation and search for knowledge by humans and may very well not even occur to any visitors philosophy or purposes.

As long as we are dealing with fictional and hypothetical things why not imagine something out of &quot;The Day the Earth Stood Still&quot; and think of any aliens visiting as advanced beings here to help us potential-laden savages ?
It's just as likely and, I would think, more likely than a non-interfering aliens.
Arthur C. Clarke's &quot;Childhood's End&quot; is another (excellent) story of this sort

Any beings capable of interstellar travel would be advanced scientifically and more than likely far more socially advanced than we are.
Why wouldn't they end hunger, wars etc.and help us to achieve our potential as rational intelligent beings?

I certainly don't recall seeing one, but it is outright ridiculous to believe that our dot of dirtball rock as compared to the size so many other planets in just our galaxy would be the only thing that contained intelligent life. I'd say moreso than anything else it is arrogant.
