I'm happy with the new mayor in my town. Young guy with fresh ideas.

Almost all our old cronies were voted out and a new generation of leaders were elected at city hall.

Hopefully now we can become more than an auto industry one trick pony town.

however looks like another 4 years of no representative for our ward as IRONICALLY our local Sarah Palin edged out the favourite.. as a result of the upset, wi Ward rep is the former Ms Canada ..

rob ford didnt do a lick of work all the years he was on council. all he did was trumpet on and on about how him spend the least out of all councillors when it came to office expenses. easy to do when u a work in a company u daddy build while u ostensibly also on council.

a friend of mine worked for a community agency in his riding for many years and she could never get him to support their issues - he picks and chooses who he helps, and poor coloured folk were low on his priority list. ironically, nuff coloured folk, including many jamaicans, voted for him because he is not a homosexual, as the other candidate was known to be.

rob ford went a baseball game, got into an arugument wth some other fans including a woman, and insulted and berated them, saying some really foul things, and when they complained, he lied and denied it until corroborating proof was found. all this while he was a councillor.

he's a racist bully, and for the sake of his campaign, they shut him down and made him repeat the silly little mantras that are the comfort of the unthinking. we'll see how quickly the real rob ford reasserts himself as mayor.

he lost because he kept on slithering on the issues. one day is against ford. the next day he's trying to out-ford ford. he preached whatever he thought his listeners wanted to hear and seemed much less than credible.
