sorry Fancy..I think you need to read up on exactly what MV did. He DID torture those dogs. He was aware and was there when torturing was being done. They weren't cousins, they were his home boys. He lied to the NFL, he lied to the judge and he lied to the public. What a role model...
I only hope Michael Vick one day suffers the same fate of the dogs he forced to fight. He is a soulless killer who has shown zero remorse... zip. nada. zilch. Vick does not deserve, nor will he get, my forgiveness.

i guess from yall point of view "reading" what he did and "admitted" to versus what really happened i can see ur point.
look at it this way...
if u had the option of admitting to something u didnt do for a lesser charge would u do it? or would u be an upstanding citizen and admit to what u did and sit in jail for the rest of your young life?
he admitted to whatever the lawyers, judges and whoever else said he needed to admit to so he can be where he is today...playing in the NFL instead of sitting in jail right today.
And besides, no animal lover is gonna see that. all they gonna see is Vick's name and that he is an "animal abuser."
i wanna see how many ppl gonna actually admit and be telling the truth that they would go to jail for an extended amount of time just so they not labeled "an animal abuser"
please! whatever it takes to get back to ur normal life asap is what a realist is gonna do. nobody in they right mind gonna say "no! send me to jail for however long society sees fit! i will not admit to being an animal abuser! my pride is more important than my freedom!" yea right </div></div>

Michael Vick is undeserving of our admiration

As a sports fan whose sports enthusiasm is essentially limited to football, collegiate and pro, I frequently find myself at contretemps with those who live and breathe sports, all sports, 24/7/365. Much of their excessive enthusiasm I find easy to overlook. Where I part company is in their tendency to forgive just about any social aberration or crime by those athletes whose superior physical skills serve to put them into some sort of protected class.
The immediate inspiration for my thoughts is the Houston/Philadelphia game I am now watching on Thursday night. God help me but I can't help but root against Michael Vick on every play. Vick is an outstanding athlete no question, but he's also a cold, cruel human thug, who has horribly and routinely abused animals. Yeah, I know, he served his time and in the tunnel vision of the sports world should be forgiven and allowed to resume his career. Naaahh!!!
Sorry, but I can't watch this guy play without hearing the heart-rending screams of dogs he strung up with rope and cable to die a slow agonizing death, futilely twisting and turning, fighting to free themselves from the agony that closed around their throats, cutting off their air, their lives, all because Michael Vick wasn't totally satisfied that they had done their best in the deadly dog-fighting rings where he placed them.
And yes, for the tenderer souls among you AT readers, dogs do scream in their death throes, as do most mammalian creatures including man. I'm no sissy and I'm no weak-willed [censored] afraid of confronting the hard aspects of life. I have been in ground combat in the jungles and rice paddies and seen humans turned into hamburger in front of my eyes. It is horrifying and it stays with you forever, but you have the enduring and unsatisfying consolation that it is done out of necessity not out of whim.
Those who fight dogs are men who are beyond my understanding. What twists and turns in their brains to find this bloody viciousness a sport is incomprehensible to me. Worse is their treatment of the unfortunate animals that fall under their evil ownership. Dogs are starved into savagery with the weaker among them succumbing to the stronger while the stronger survive only to endure greater horrors. Even those dogs which rise to the top and become champions will someday find themselves passed by and out of favor, left to a cruel death when they no longer win, and, as in Michael Vick's case, hanged, to twist and turn, screaming in their death throes, all because Vick and his co-defendants determined they were no longer winners, worthy of being players in his fighting stable.
God forgive me, but I can't help but watch Michael Vick playing without hoping that I see him carried to the sidelines screaming in agony with an injury and pain that a just God will make everlasting. Sorry sportscasters, there are some crimes against basic human decency which are unforgivable, hurting innocent animals being foremost among them in my mind..
Think about it: when Vick's football skills begin to fail and he can no longer win those games that count, should the Philadelphia fans drag him out of the competitive pit and hang him by his neck over a parking lot lamp post, watching him twist and turn until his agonized screams die away into the same nothingness as his losing dogs?
Spare me his talent; Michael Vick is the Charles Manson of the football/dog world.

sorry hun i cant read all that. besides i know ppl that know Vick and i know ppl that are related to him. yes i am from VA.
and as i said b4, nobody gonna deny doing something and face spending their whole life in jail when they can admit to whatever "they" want and not ruin his career nor spend his life in jail.Comment

and there was a time wen black life was thought to be less dan animals...seems it has not changed by ur comment....ur equating him to Charles Manson echoes wat the person said about his non involvement...Manson stood by while his 'converts' did the deeds...but it is nice to see dat some equate a dog's death to a human's </div></div>

Actually I wasn't cheering for OJ when he got off. I was relieved and glad that they finally put his worthless a$$ behind bars.

What does his crime have to do with him playing professional football???
Yes, I agree what the dogs were put through is indeed sickening. He has served his time. It just doesn't make sense to me that a person served his time but society wants to put him through an everlasting sentence of imprisonment
One must remember that his crime has nothing to do with his professional career. NOTHING AT ALL!!!
I wish people would be just as upset at the white collar criminals who have forced America into a never ending recession and are allowed back into the financial markets. Why are you not protesting about that?
Why are people not upset about the countless NFL players who are wife beaters, dead beat dads.
The answer because a dog's life is more valuable than some human life.
I just can't stand the hypocrisy.
Mr. Vick (yes Mr. Vick) has served his time and served too much time if you ask me. He has made amends and he rightfully deserves to move on with his life.
If you were in his shoes I'm sure you would want to do the same.
