well said...let me ask anyone on here who has attended r attends US college...have u had any political science class..do u hear the thinking of the new generation...frankly wat is taught to each generation...in my time ,it was the rhetoric of we help but still they hate us...u can imagine the uproar whe i itemized juss how they 'helped' naming the despots and tyrants they maintained yet believing that the citizenry would be grateful for the tyranny they enjoyed at the hands of US supported funds an foreign policy....Americans r undereducated and really believe the soft spiel they use to get on the news and now they totally embrace the utter crap they get from the Becks of the country

Peasie,

I actively worked for years in opposition to the war in Vietnam, I went to Washington to protest on numerous occasions and for several causes, anti-war, women's rights, for civil rights as well as at home in Boston. I never voted for a Democrat or Republican, anyone who became president and always for someone who had a more moral position.
I write to my congressman.
There is only so much that can be said and done in opposition to official policies short of going illegal.

Anyone familiar with my position on U.S foreign policy and who reads what I post has a reasonable chance of seeing things as I do on at least some subjects.

At least they have something different to offset some of the official disinformation commonly believed.

That's all most of us can do and all that we are allowed to do .

What I don't do is overlook the overwhelming evil that is done by this country because everyone else does it.

I refuse to be a good loyal German citizen (Nazi) and drink the Kool-aid and am doing what I can to change the way most people have been brainwashed to think about U.S. foreign policy and the damned liars behind it.

My conscience is clear.

Wikileaks business is to leak confidential documents, so just like corporations exist to make profit for their shareholders, by endevoring a certain line a business, in a purist sense, Wikileaks business is to leak confidential docs.. pure and simple..
BUT
considering that Wikileaks principals claim to be for world peace and anti- war and it seems stupid that they would be fueling the flames of potential global unease with their actions.

on the flip side, why do american govt need to document EVERYTHING?? and have they never heard of encryption and encodeing???

One would think the american govt would have some serious investments in encryption processes procedures and software

Evan, I'm just reading along as I am wont to do, but your above remarks &quot;jive&quot; with what I've been told by others I have known who had similar experiences.. It's a suttle form of &quot;brainwashing&quot; especially for young minds that will gladly accept &quot;so called&quot; good intentions as noble and caring while neglecting to focus on the inhumanity and suffering of those who are adversely affected.. Not too many students realise the real intent behind their mis-education and become &quot;grist for the mill&quot; operated by the likes of the &quot;Becks&quot; wherever they are..

from my time working at the embassy eall communication came in the form of cables (even software installation instructions) it was all encrypted and on arrival was decoded and distributed as necessary..I remember one time we got in crap because a set of upgrade installation instructions had come &quot;eyes only&quot; to my manager and we had them posted on the wall in the computer room. ( i must check Wikileaks to see if this cable is leaked)

I agree that everyone wants to feel safe. I am not trying to justify the killing of innocent people. What I have an issue with is Wikileaks believe that this will not harm anyone. The leaks point to these nations being active participants (may say this for slavery and colonialism too) in some of the bombings because it justifies their power (tribal disputes etc). We only have one side of the leaks. This always leads to blame that side because that is the only information we have...
