Nope but since this was a large deal done for financial purposes it comes under that heading. I think Wahalla established the fact that Libya is a capitalist country and since there is no mention anywhere that Libya is doing anything altruistic or charitable here, it would appear that it was done for financial gain.

1) Yes I have bought property and in Jamaica. I bought in when two friends needed a third partner in order to buy a four acre piece that was for sale in order for them to build new houses after they were kicked off what turned out NOT to be captured land.
They did not have enough money to do it themselves.

I bought it because I wanted to build my own house/vacation spot/ retirement home in a place I had come to love.

I have spent over U.S. $100,000 there over the years. It has cost me money. I have not made money. If I sell it, I may or may not get that money back.
I did not buy it as an investment and if I had I'd have been a fool because I could have done far better investing in the stock market over that 15 or so years.
Instead that money went to local building suppliers, local workmen, supporting a family who maintains the property, the electric company etc.
Yeah, I'm a real Donald Trump.
