Speaking of &quot;brown&quot; skin. I was in Jamaica for Christmas and Vybz Kartel who has gone from jet black to light brown is a major discussion point. Kartel say him don't bleach but him use cake soap(will sales of cake soap now spike the same way Clarkes sell off?) and according to him nuttin no wrong with bleaching since white people tan to get darker all the time.

I said it before And i will say it again, bleaching in Jamaica is an act of survival.
Economic survival Ada in being able to pass the paper bag test.

And a matter of life And death When facing the local police.

It is a shame on the educated blacks That They joined the racial repression instead of educating the population in general to respect themselves.

Maybe the skin bleaching is simply a part of his showbiz persona,lots of people in jamaica bleach their skin because they think it makes them look more attractive,not necessarily to gain entry into other social groups,in any case isnt it jamaican culture to consider light skin more acceptable/attractive than darker skin.

kartell do has a point when he points out that its acceptable for white people to darken &quot;their&quot; skin,it's all about what is considered attractive in different cultures,I dont understand why anyone would chose to bleach their skin,but I have so gotten over what kartell or others chose to do with their bodies.
