Though the U.S. dollar has been dropping like a leaf recently it is still $83 and some cents (nt sure how much) to one JMD. Still a big diff, when u can buy sumpn wit 1 USD u cant buy anything with 1 JMD

again i say to u that given ur degree studies the opportunities open to u r limited...Canada is an expensive place and yes u do have the offset of being afforded preventive health care and a better qulaity of life than in the US ...ie. u can truss u food sources , medications etc ...u want to go to an area that is already oversubscribed with workers not to mention ur fellow Jcans...

it reads as if u juss want a job and not a career...if ur expenses bak home r such that u need enuff to pay them off wile u live a decent qiuality of life , again i say look to new areas that speak to your education


if u can live widdout etc well go for it...i couldnt so i dont go anywhere where my living is going to dip below wat i left behind...am not being flip but really trying to tell u how i would view immigrating from Jamaica were i to be doing it `11

u cannot evaluate life in NA based on wat a US dolla buys in Jamaica...i guess i am not the one to really advise people cause i have lived by the motto that i did not stomp conroaches in Jamaica so would neva live in areas abroad where that would be necessary,..

an since u seem intent on coming to countries that r themselves declining in many a way and not willing to look to the new markets well i haffi bow out....as a parting suggestion, since u are a university graduate, r u awared that the Japanese, Chinese etc embassied in Ja offer scholarships for study in their countries,....i know people who have taken up those offers, even outside their course of studies, n used that as an entree to these new markets

if u r qualified n sure of urself there is awhole new bizniz world out there apart from NA...basing ur lifeplan on the US dolla`s buying power is not to be recommended since it is not worht a dollar in the US...

Quite the contrary, I am not intent on going to Canada or the U.S. simply looking for advice and options, I was simply pointing out a fact to SweetSsop when I made that response. I am looking into your advice about the Middle East. I will also keep an eye out for the additional opportunities you mentioned about the embassies.

And you were quite correct when you said I am looking for a job, preferably one that pays well, and not a career. Rather, I hope the job I find will evolve into a career option for me.

if u research the middle east u will come upon say Dubai...true it went into bankruptcy with its overreaching but properties were still built.,..i suggest that area for many a reason

they the `native`inhabitants do not work...they hire most of their managment outside the country....Jamaicans have established a good work ethic over there wid aviation n nursing....juss read up on cultural differences....

but u just want a job....wat area u want this job in is critical fi mi to go on wid my input...

over there ur English should stand u in good stead...look at the region as a whole re their push to tourism...is usually ùpscale, so word ur resume accordingly....cite the performance of fellow jcans in other areas therre an introduce the fact of shared tourism history etc...selllll ur self in a dignified way....but do ur research n be careful....the east has an artificial view on the sexuality of women from the west...e.g blonds applying for visas r viewed long and hard given their high demand as prostiturtes r women of easy virtue there since in a sea of black hair u can imagine how they stand out n how they have been used...

the beauty of the cyber age is the availablity of info...if there is any sort of cosulate for any of those ME countries approach them for a grant to go and study citing the shared tourism n the history of peoples from that area in Ja...our Lebanese communities etc...in sum use wat is there to create ur way...u muss have gungho to have made it through University....good luck...i dont say wat i suggest is the way but nothing ventured nothing tried...n u have time if u r wanting to emigrate from yaad n u have the hope to ...

goodluck...hope u go bak once u pay off u loans n have a likkle nest eggs...ur experience will be needed

Dont get too defensive. Sweetssopp is only making sure that you are looking at the realities of both sides. Cost of living ah farin can nyam up any financial gain yuh may achieve if you are not careful in yuh selection. The Toronto area has a very high cost of living. Wi jus trying to help yuh sort through things.
