What you posted is denied by almost all Jamaicans with whom I have discussed this.
They claim that it was Michael's incompetence that caused him to lose the election in which the very efficient savior of the Jamaican economy, Edward Seaga was elected and who went on to make Jamaica the shining success it is today..
The CIA only used the embassy in Kingston for vacation purposes, (reggae and Bob Marley were very popular at the time) which is why the U.S embassy in Kingston had the most CIA personnel in the hemisphere during the Manley era "difficulties".
Isn't it amazing how the CIA (and by association) the U.S gets blamed for every little thing?
