A couple of things:

Slavery is okay in the Bible. The Europeans and other Christians and Jews are not going to Hell if they have slaves. I don't know how the Koran treats slavery but assuming the Koran reflects the mores of the the Middle East, it must be okay with that religion too.
Africans who adopted Christianity should have read that fine print in Leviticus before they got baptized.
It is a good slave religion though. Keeps them subservient. "Being a slave is just God's will (sigh).





Making people work at hard labor they don't benefit from except for enough to keep the bodies just healthy enough to be able to work the next day used to be called slavery.

Nowadays for many or most, it's called a job.

Old traditions die hard.

It's true that slavery is said to have been practised among the Biblical Hebrews.
However, I don't even like to call what Africans experienced 'slavery' because the economic deprivation of not being paid money was the LEAST.

It is necessary for a more appropriate term to gain widespread usage.
One of the things we've allowed is for others to define us and our experiences for us.

I'm making a legit point that you are ignoring. What I posted has a clear relavance to the matter at hand. You cannot speak of the topic of slavery and Africa's involvement as it existed in the past without mentioning that SLAVERY STILL EXIST IN THAT COUNTRY IN THE PRESENT.....the silence on this subject is deafening.
