over time I have seen them come and go...they come with symathetic cliches of helping us, telling us how to live.. the moment we demonstrate any level of proactivitity and assetiveness the true nature of how they see us is revealed...

They need us to be cliched sterotypical beach bums, wit the mental age of ten.. the sophistication of fuedal peasants.. unable to think for our selfs.. and should we burst their bubbles they ineviatable resort to insults....

Of course we get mad, 'cause REAL french is the one spoken in Quebec. When France started colonising, French was spoken in Paris the way it is spoken in Quebec now. We barely changed our pronounciations and accents, but the people from France started feeling the need to change their pronounciations to sound more &quot;noble, rich, and educated&quot; So our French here in Quebec sounds more like the original French, while theirs has changed too much.

The main difference between France and Quebec is that we never complain about France's accent while they always complain about ours. </div></div>

I just heard the exact same thing on the radio where they are playing &quot;American Routes&quot; NPR radio show. Great show, and today it was Cajun fiddler Dewey Balfa saying it. LOL...wish I could remember the word for word but fill in Creole, cajun, acadia and the like in place of the northern references.

It is an excellent show today, hereso This has been an interesting thread, though I haven't visited it for a couple of days so I will have to catch up.
