I agree with you that the policeman lacked training. He should have never shot the man with bystanders in close vincinity. At such close range the bullet could have penetrated the victims body and hit a bystander behind him.
Since it looks in the video that another man (non police) was already holding the blue shirt man, the police could have giving him a lick in the stomach to neutralise the situation.

Firing in the air is a dangerous practice that should never be encouraged. While it is unlikely that you can die from a bullet shot in the air, it will cause serious injury to a person on whom the bullet lands at 150 mph.

In reality, cops are trained that when they discharge dem gun it is tuh immediately neutralize the threat to life. They are trained to aim for the biggest target, and to fire more than one shot. Aiming for a leg takes extreme accuracy and takes up crutial time to aim, if you are not at point-blank range, and you could easily miss, or the bullet could pass through soft tissue and still not stop the immediate threat to life. Not all cops are efficient wen using dem guns, however. Even wen yuh hav ah hostage situation, an head-shot is a risky proposition.

From the looks of it, shooting this hombre in the leg could possibly just simply anger him more... adrediline plus a bunch of bredrens fighting the police, increase the chance of this turining out badly for the police..

Its easy for us to say, but walking in the shoes, I dont know how many police officers would be shooting in the AIR while being attacked in the way we see on the vid.

Totally agree X.. I find it almost suicidal for a person fi waan fight a police (in the US or JA). I don't think the shooting is justified but I have to say that outcome didn't surprise me. It is not wise under no circumstance to aggravate the police.

its a f---up situation for the police to be in. Here's he's arresting this man, and he decides to &quot;walk out&quot; a the police station.. Not only that, he's stabbing up the police and he and his friends are attacking the police..

Its easy and popular to beatup on the police.. chus mi.. my best friend from childhood days was shot and killed by police.. They shot him, throw him in the jeep, drove as if they taking him to hospital, the shot him again to finish him off while he lay bleeding in the back.
We had to PAY the govt to have the body released as they claim that when a wanted man is killed the family need to reimburse the authorities for the ammunition used, before the body can be released...

Suh mi not a fan of the police, but that hombre put the cop in a difficult situation and the outcome iis not surprising. if anything its amazing him and all his bredrends wasnt lighted up earlier..

Though what you say is nearer to gospel truth, we find this situation repeating itself day in day out. Plus, no one wins.
We have a lot of angry people at hand. People ready to ignite under the slightest provocation.
It was reported that the deceased was drinking in a bar with others and was more than possibly intoxicated because it was said he was going on unruly whatever that might mean. The police station located next door and the police on duty presumably apprehended the drunk who by the way comes from nearby Aboukir therefore not a stranger.

Police are supposedly trained to apprehend and subdue. They are trained to kill only when life is in perilous danger.

The camera footage clearly showed that the police were in no immediate life threatening danger and if they were, not to the extent where the cop was able to pull a gun and shoot point blank a suspect who was not so simularly armed.

What I saw was an angry and drunk man over reacting in the presence of the police and citizens. Six of one thing, a half dozen of the other. The police themselves entered into a brawl with this dead Jamaican and though they outnumbered the drunk and his friend, they failed to subdue with reasonable force the suspect, but instead allowed themselves to be in turn intoxicated with blind and unreasonable anger, so much so that a gun was used to inflict mortal injury as a way and means to put an end to this evergreen situation that is part of the reason why in Jamaica there is so much of a high rate of police murders.

The person with the camera must be living in mortal hell at this moment for catching something that I am sure the police will find more than embarassing especially if justice is sought. in the court.

Today, with more mobile phones than citizens, bystanders can make breaking news available nearly instantly on you tube and the whole world can be the judge.
