I was probably irrational to think that even a black man could get the black population out to the polls in greater numbers which would have shown the potential power they could have.

I never had any real hope that Obama would be anything other than what he is..

I don't understand how you can say that people need MORE time, MORE of Obama selling out to the oligarchy, MORE wars to prove that he is evil to see through the lies and nice speeches.

All I hear is that he is the best option which is the lesser of two evils argument all over again.

How many terms in office would he need to convince the Kool Aid drinkers that he is no more and no less than a Bush or a Reagan ? </div></div>

and Michelle Bachman woudl be better?

some thinking people still realize that the system is not going to change so you have to live with what is on hand and make a choice between the two on offer.

so your answer is get him out and put in somebody who is further to the right?

This is what jah-yout, in his wisdom, posted,

Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, ANYONE who is put up by their party to be a candidate has been vetted; checked out carefully; is a known quantity.

Regardless of intellect (see Bush, Reagan) or intelligence (see Obama , Clinton) they ALL do what is best for the dictatorship of the dollar. No candidate nominated by their party has any intention of changing things.

In the past I used the example of Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford three Republicans, three Democrats who pursued the Vietnam War because it was and is the imperialist policy of both parties that they followed.

Today you could use the examples of Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II and now Obama to show the same thing applies in following the serving of interests of the very rich which is really the same as pursuing imperial foreign policies; they benefit the rich and hurt the poor.


If the American people choose to re-elect Obama, they're screwed.
If they choose what is given to them as an alternative, whether more liberal or more conservative or as nutty as peanut brittle they're screwed.

You might LIKE to think that if they are Tea Partiers or liberals that there will be a difference in the major policies (taxes, business, war, treatment of the poor) but look at the wars, look at the poverty levels, look at the fading middle class and the burgeoning riches of the wealthy and if you're not blind or stupid you can see that things just don't change much except for the great increase in wealth for the top 5% and the fantastic increase for the 1% at the very top.


That 5% at the top is what jah-yout is referring to when he says that Obama ( and every) president is only a part of a bigger (more powerful, making all the key decisions that affect our lives, doing the actual governing ) SYSTEM.

Is Bachman any more intellectually challenged than was/is Bush II?

Ronald Reagan was non compos mentis at the end of his eight years. He was so bad that he was not allowed to give press conferences by his handlers.

Back in the twenties President Harding or one of the presidents had an incapacitating stroke and his wife &quot;ran&quot; the country until his term ended.

So you could put Mortimer Snerd, the dummy in the Oval Office and things would go on as before.

The Presidency is a figurehead position in which all the decisions have been pre-made and for which nobody but basically evil people; those who have totally thrown out their morality and ethics, can or will be nominated by the twin parties of the rich.

I learned this very basic fact of U.S government in my twenties but as you pointed out it takes others longer to grasp reality and IMO the reality is too emotionally difficult for most to deal with and so they live in a more pleasant illusion rather than deal with a brutal betrayal and an impossible reality.

How many out there are in their 50s and 60s and are still living in political fantasyland ?Most of the country.


Half the population does not vote; some out of apathy but even of these there are a great many IMO who feel that their vote is wasted or doesn't count because things never do change so they don't bother.

Most others do not really understand the rule of the dollar and cling to the fantasy that the U.S. is a functioning democracy/republic and continue to get enthused about candidates who promise change from the grim reality that all presidents and presidential candidates (Bachman included) support.

Specifically, what is it that you disagree about in what I have said here ?

you are left with choosing based on the so called minor things...like which candidate is more likely to support a program for more college grants...who is more likely to be pro worker etc etc.


basing choices on those things is neither ignorant or stupid.

Of course it is stupid and ignorant.

The minor programs and benefits are given with one hand and other things taken away with the other by the candidates of both parties.

Since Reagan the working man has been losing his living standards under both parties.

But since you think that IMAGE and campaign promises suffice, go on and vote for Obama.

I'd prefer to vote for Ralph Nader, the Greens or any other alternative on the ballot which is the moral choice.
A vote for a Democrat or Republican is a vote for more of the same and all you have to do is look at Obama's record to understand this if, indeed, you or anyone else WANTS to understand this
