To be fair to obama,he didnt start this latest desert adventure,the french and the british did,sarkozy because he has a looming presidential election,and cameron because he wanted to strut his badboy stuff on the world stage and notch up a war on his bedpost.
The so-called UN is a bloody disgrace,and full of hypocrites,two europeans on the permanent council and not one single african,resolutions are passed based purely and simply on self interests.

Why start with Carter????... you are going to have to go waaaaayyy further back than that Carter Milo And while we are at it ..let's just crucify this President for the all the wrongs that other Presidents have executed in the past. Let's make him the example ..shall we?

NATO has proven in Afghanistan that is cannot bomb anything but Muslim Wedding parties. I didn't expect it to improve its accuracy in Libya, especially when the argument at the start of the operation was that they would not coordinate with the Libyan Rebels.....sure sign of disaster!

What any president SAYS is always questionable and in this case highly questionable.

You have taken a most unfortunate stand in supporting a U.S./European aggression against a Third World country which is engaged in a civil war.

I watched his last press conference and he twice REFUSED to answer a question on his power to wage war unilaterally.

Just to be clear. I do not support USA unilateral actions in any country!
I had an argument on twitter that ran for many days (before any Western shots had been fired), from some so-called supporter of the Libyan Rebels, who was safely ensconced in England.

He was blaming the POTUS for not getting the UN to intervene in the conflict.
I told him that Barry was doing the right thing leave it alone till the UN got around to dealing with it.
I am telling you this to say I predicted what the argument was going to be once the USA fired any shots, worse a hostile one!

Wendy, if you can search back to when Bush Jr. was president I had more than a few post saying the same things about him as well. This is nothing new.

I agree with you 1,000%. Unfortunately, all who were president before Carter are now dead so I start with him.

I don't want this to sound disrespectful and it certainly is not directed at you personally Wendy so please don't take it in such a way. But I can really see why many of us living outside the USA feel about America and Americans the way we do, and more so the American government. There is a view that if the leadership say bomb, then bomb and there is never any serious debate of &quot;why?&quot;.

I am not the smartest man, I admit that, but even so, even I watched the address Colin Powell gave before the United Nations and shook my head in disbelief, yet the troops were rallied and a sovereign country invaded, for what?

I love Americans, I have family that are American citizens. But the American policy of bombing peoples into submission is not one that is winning it any friends.

MIlo - I can appreciate what you said here. I too do not like the notion that US think they can bomb people's country to get their way.

Just as a side note..remember Barack as a Senator adamantly refused to vote for the Iraq war saying it was unjust and uncalled for. He was and is right. Now as President, he finds himself succumbing to the same military [scams] pressures as so many other Presidents find themselves. I think most of the high ranking member in uniform LOVE to be at war..always eager to show off America's might and to &quot;test out&quot; the latest computerized bomb they cooked up. So they are forever advising Presidents that war is the answer and somehow convince them that it will be &quot;quick and easy&quot;. One bomb and we outta there.. We all know that is not reality. I just wish Presidents had enough courage to stand up and tell them flat out NO!
