well, the daily mail does usually take artistic liberties with its stories. the Pot Noodle touch is typical DM, guy coulda probably just gone grocery shopping in general, but it makes a better story fi seh im gone fi buy Pot Noodles at the order of his newly arrived bride. They could be slightly making a dig at her class by suggesting she made a special order for dried ramen.

anyhoo, the last i looked the comments from readers were basically, there's no fool like an old fool, and some sympathy for a third world bride 33 years younger.

I do believe that in the circumstances this woman can be deported back to her country of origin. It was clearly her intention to use the marriage for entry to the UK. I also believe the authorities have two years to do it.

i think a [erspn who wants to marry outside their country should apply for a licence from the govenment . then the government can set down rules for entering the country . for one you would have a health check and a suitability exam. you wouldn't want to live in a country that you could not adjust too. and if the marrage fails in under say 5 years every right is revoked. then this poor man would have some protection from this

Zero sympathy from me. Y<span style="font-weight: bold">ou lot harping on about benefits, both husband and wife can not claim for 5 years, once you have married a non UK resident you loose your right to claim as well as the non UK resident, so she cant claim, and neither can he, even if she has done a runner. They want to get out of Africa to work and provide for their families back home, they are not from a benefit claiming country, they are from a hard working background. I know if you are from India or Ghana you can claim straight away, but if you are from The Gambia you cant. So it's not fair to paint everyone with the same brush, we need to look at the facts first. Yes she has done a runner and taken this guy for a mug, but her visa will be revoked anyway, as you also need to remain married for 2 years, then a further 5 years to get your right to remain. The laws changed about 2 years ago.</span>

Knowing our laws she probably will get the right to stay here because she married British. What the government needs to do is make it compulsory that if a British person marries someone from abroad, their marriage will only be legalised here after having a 5-10 year relationship.

Honestly, I am from south america and moved to the UK because of my husband and it took me 2 years to accept his marriage proposal because living abroad and leaving my family and friends behind is a very difficult decision but we really love each other, we are young and with good careers and our family gave us full support, we are having a baby and we couldn`t be happier.... It disgusts me to see that are so many mean people like this woman coming to this country and probably end up living with government support taking advantages of the taxes we pay for. At least not everybody is like this.

He lives in a council flat,maybe she had higher expectation of the guy,s wealth before leaving Jamaica,but the speed at which she left suggests she may have intended to leave him as soon as she get to the UK,and made prior arrangements.......it,s not an easy feat for someone who,s just landed the first time in a country to suddenly up sticks and make their way to another destination unaided.

Something about the story's discrepancies such as (A) she sent him to buy noodles and she left as he returned (B) he taking her to train station(C)she runs 500 pounds worth of cell calls within let's say even 20 minutes which is impossible. I hope she is ok, what if this man had done something to her for running up phone bills calling who... etc, police and immigration need to investigate this situation, the man could have concocted this story as alibi for missing wife. This story is not making sense, we need to hear from this lady in order to confirm her safety
