(Barbados Nation) An elderly man and his son-in-law were killed last night in St George by two masked gunmen.

Dead is 79-year-old Arthur “Fred” Chaderton of Salters and Metamara Stock, a 42-year-old Austrian who was on holiday with family members.

Reports indicate that Chaderton was shot to death at the entrance of his home around 7:25 p.m., while his son-in-law died minutes after arrival at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) with gunshot injuries.

Sources told the midweek NATION last night that it is believed the killers went to the wrong residence and may have been targeting Chaderton’s brother, the owner of the Bridge Supermarket at Charles Rowe Bridge in the same parish. One driveway leads to the residences of both Chaderton brothers.

Unlike the Jamaican media operators who are quick to publish snf in dome cases sindicate crime news.
You have to get the crime news in these countries on a second hand basis.
Since nit even the few bulletin boards font even discuss it.
It is there Since all the underlying structures That causes the high crime in Jamaica exists in these countries.
Everybody try to make believe That Jamaican criminals are different from criminals.
People need to stop the magical thinking.
That is the realm of toddlers.
It is not the people.
It I'd the structures That support the system.
If the structure is flawed nothing can stop the resulting breakdown.
Police irrespective of how well equipped cannot guarantee a safe community.
insecure citizens irresponsible of how patriotic will not support police if They know the criminals are well armed but they and their neighbors are vulnerable.
No single citizen irrespective of how well armed can avoid being murdered if the criminals know That his neighbors are unarmed And undo to defend him or give evidence against him.

where the gun is the favorite method of solving disputes...
followed by the cutlass, the knife, etc.

in other words killing is seen as a normal method of conflict resolution...this has been engrained in our culture;
