Mr. Seaga remained quiet all through Mr. Golding's Term. He said nothing other than what he said at the time he was leaving. The problem was solely with the Golding four years. The Party had every opportunity to rebuild it was Mr. Golding that wreck the Party in the last four years. He went totally off script, totally off message and bungled the everything he has touch.

Disagree. During the 2007 campaign he was making comments about JLP MPs who he knew had dual citizenship. During the Mannat mess after the Tivoli invasion rather than try to be diplomatic he said the entire JLP was corrupt on national tv - I am surprised the PNP did not use it in an election ad. If Seaga had gracefully exited in the 90s, maybe even remain in the party and serve as cabinet minister like Shearer did the JLP would have been stronger.

Remember the JLP had some devastating losses in the 90s with less than 15 seats because of Seaga's refusal to let go and let someone else be the face of the party. Yes Golding bundled the Dudus mess badly but even if that issue never came to the fore the JLP would have had a tough reelection campaign after having won in 2007 by only 4 seats.

For one thing it was not under the JLP that Dudus rose it was under the PNP. Mr. Golding did not know Dudus and was not even an Elected Official during the time of Dudus.

and yet he put his political career on the line to prevent dudus' extradition. why, if he was so distant from the don's history?

Find I the quotes?
I cannot remember that, but consider this.
Mr. Seaga set a precedent by giving up his Dual Citizenship.
Mr. Golding prides himself on be a student of the Constitution, yet he made a unimaginable error by selection Candidates that were Dual Citizens. This revealed poor vetting by Mr. Golding and he should have resigned then.
Then when all this was going through the Courts he let it play out rather than tell each of his Dual Citizens to declare then call an election.

Mr. Seaga said Mr. Golding should resigned over the war he handled the storming of Tivoli. are you saying Mr. Seaga should have been silent about this when every one was chasing him for and opinion?
Mr. Golding bungled the matter and should have resigned there and then for sending in the State to kill in members of his own Constituency!

No lie not happy with this outcome. I can handle a loss but the PNP appears to have won by a sizable margin and will no doubt see this as a mandate to run with it again. Omar Davies back as finance minister in the new cabinet would not surprise me.

You have totally missed it. He cared zero about Dudus. What Mr. Golding was trying to protect was Mr. Golding.....nothing else. He threw his whole Party under the bus.

Tuff I agree. Bruce was a WRECK. While in the wilderness he propose many plans. When he was given the chance he failed to implement. He was unable to cross it.

someone asked karl samuda whether in hindsight the G2K, the party's youth wing, was given too much latitude in the campaign. he said that he felt the youth's enthusiasm should not be constrained.

but i wonder about their strategy of attack ads.

someone now disagreeing with samuda, saying the G2K didn't actually reflect a new style of politics, but harked back to the old ways, that the G2K needed guidance.
