Though Aretha Franklin was originally on tap to sing “The Greatest Love of All” at Whitney Houston’s funeral Saturday, the Queen of Soul had to cancel her appearance. CNN reports a rep for the singer says Franklin is too ill to perform. UPDATE: People reports Franklin said leg spasms kept her from appearing and performing at the funeral. Said Franklin in a statement: “Regretfully, I am so sorry that I was unable to be with you at Whitney’s service today. I had every intention of being there. But unfortunately I had terrible leg spasms and locked leg muscles until 4:00 a.m. this morning following my concert last night, which I’ve been having for the last few days … I feel it necessary and very important to stay off my leg today as much as possible until concert time this evening. My heart goes out to my dear friend Cissy, Dionne, Bobbi Kristina and the rest of the family. May God keep them all.”

the cameras had moved away from the front of the church by then since the lone camera inside was getting ready to send out the feed

don't nobody have time to be studying him and his lingering behind

ok mi guh check tmz and apparently some cass cass went down and he may have went in briefly and left. some reports over seating and/or wanting to speak and dem tell no him cannot speak suh he left ??

According to a person familiar with the situation, Brown brought an entourage of nine people with him to the Newark church and wanted them to sit with them in the family section.

&quot;They were asked to leave,&quot; the person said, referring to the entourage. Brown was not asked to leave, but &quot;he left with the other people,&quot; according to the person, who was not at liberty to discuss the situation publicly.

Brown appeared visibly upset as he left the church and got into a black Cadillac SUV.

Bobby Brown was asked to leave Whitney Houston's funeral today ... after he got into an argument with Whitney's family over whether or not he could bring nine people into the church with him ... TMZ has learned.

Brown was spotted going into the church today in Newark, NJ ... but was seen leaving shortly thereafter.

According to our sources, Brown was invited, plus two, but instead showed up with an entourage of nine people. We're told Bobby became upset when he found out they would not seat his whole party.

Our sources say Bobby wanted to sit with his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, but Whitney's family was not having it.We're told Rev. Jesse Jackson tried to smooth things over ... but to no avail.

Bobby Brown walked out of his ex-wife Whitney Houston’s funeral just 20 minutes into the service in New Jersey on Saturday.

The New Edition singer joined his former mother-in-law Cissy, his 18-year-old daughter with Houston, Bobbi Kristina, and her cousin Dionne Warwick at the New Hope Baptist Church in the her native Newark to celebrate the life of the late superstar.

But Brown didn't stay long - he left the memorial soon after it started, before filmmaker Tyler Perry and Houston's The Bodyguard co-star Kevin Costner took to the podium to each pay tribute to the tragic singer.
