I think any one who farms goats in Jamaica is an optimist while beleiving that duppy nuh fraid ah white rum.

Goats are easy and most pleasant animals to farm.
If I did not stop eating meat and the fact that my dad kept p-----ing I off, I would still be a goat herder.
I gave away all my goats. The guy I gave them to end up having a bigger herd from just my goats than my dad....which really drove him nuts.

my ex was once a pig farmer. i'd have preferred goats, because i find them easier to manage than pigs. getting up early to tie out goats before i went to school, then fetching them home in the evenings was much preferable to trying to feed the pigs - i was always afraid they were going to nyam my hands, they were so greedy and impatient.

We had Pigs as well. That was one of the source of the arguments between I and my dad. He wanted I to neglect my goats and take care of his pigs.

Of course we started with Pigeons, simultaneously raised Guinea Fowl, Domestic Fowl, Guinea Pigs and Rabbits. We got rid of all the above for Pigs, Goats and Turkey while experimenting with Yams. My mom stayed into Domestic Fowl.

Hard to explain that I grew up on an urban farm in lower St. Andrew on the border of Kingston.

We had goats.. But the wastage due to predial larceny... was phenominal... so we shifted to sheep....Pigs if u raise them are too smart ot eat.....

We had a pig that got away and foud it self in someones garden two miles away....(ok a mile... but it involved by passing two roads two choices path forks.... The out raged man came and got me... I spent an hour chasing that damn pig round the mans land.. in the end I hit the pig with all my might across its fat rump... I swear that pig ran besides me home and was grunted sorry all the way home...

Our neighbor here in Negril went to listen to a preacher on Wed nite with his son, only to return home and find his penned up 4 goats stolen right out of his yard. I really feel bad for the man. A couple of them were only 3 weeks old.

you know MGee I used to spend my summers out East in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick on Farms, so we were playing ball and the ball went into a pig house or whatever they call it....anyway I climbed in while the pigs were eating and the blastid pig chased me I barely made it out in time(older cousins)lifted me out. I never knew pigs could bare dem teeth like that......the memory still makes me shiver

Pigs, wi nyam ah lot of tings including human flesh. Goats, also nyam pretty much anyting also, including very rusty cans, books, old shoes, but mi cayan ever memba seeing dem nyaming flesh?

Maybi di goat farmers dem can answer dat quetion fi mi.

goats will eat rust cans, so it doan cut up dem insides good thing I dont like goat meat too gamey remind of the smell of Moose meat when it cooking
