i always ask the people talking about how much ethiopians can't take rasta why they would send their children to be taught by people they hate?

Yeah I was in the victoria station concourse shopping eating a KFC twister and they had Peter Tosh tune playing as Muzik in the back ground!.... (KFC spices all original came from Jamaica...) At that moment I felt old for the first time....

the first &quot;locks men&quot; in Jamaica were of East Indian Extraction. Adhedrents of shiva..But that seems to be long forgotten much like shearer and sangster... </div></div>

one of the original ras was an indian...and leonard howell was also known as ganguru maraj- an indian name;
there have definitely been indian influences, but the main inspiration for the locks was the mau mau movement of kenya;
the original rases did not have the wearing of locks as a main principle </div></div>

all well and good but in the final analysis we have to realise that the Rastafari movement as it evolved in Jamaica took on a whole new ting...wearing of the locs was pawt n parcel n that hair was co-opted...the nature of Rastafari is alll Jcan...the fight against injustice, the using of the Nazarite Vow etc etc etc...down to the claim of Selassie as the returning Messiah...many must know of wat dem saying...there r pawts that come from afar but the movement was a Jcan one...intrinsic to wat was happening in Jamaica...they were the freedom fighters ala the Mau Mau stance but it was much more and all Jcan inspired

rastafari has spread to the four corners of the earth...
if you can't see the naturality of that, then stop being a christian since it started in northeast afrika/ &quot;the middle east&quot;...stop being muslim because it started in saudi arabia...
rasta has &quot;changed itself&quot;...it remains the same, but all life evolves...and different ones will have different interpretations of certain things;

bobo hill and any number of encampments are still there...ras is still there...the message lives within the heart, not in the analysis of scholars and books...

jamaicans are not able to appreciate the global impact of this movement...only ones outside of jamaica;

it has spread farther faster than any religion on earth
