I think there are a few distinct paths America can take. Right now the overwhelming message is that the only way to be a great country is through force and fear...I think Obama is trying to change that ..his view is that you can be a great country by doing great things. this is not a overnight change and the reality is that given the political climate you have to move very slowly. but i agree that in general there will be little change in US foreign policy.
in terms of the social balance in the US i think the Democrats and the Republican have very distinct views and that is where there is the most potential for a president to make change.
people need to educate them self more about guys like grover norquist and the impact he has on the domestic agenda of the country.
they need to listen to the drum beat from right wing talk radio when every day they keep talking about 47% not paying tax</div></div>
of course of course...
what did george orwell say?
-War is Peace
-Ignorance is Strength
-Freedom is Slavery
yes we have to go slow...so slow that we are still in iraq & afghanistan (even though they supposedly plugged bin laden between the eyes and dumped his body at sea :/)...even though saddam has been dead for years and this war was started on a bold-faced lie;
yes these liars/murderers are probably good people deep down that have our best interests at heart...
i don't buy it...but i'm just one person-- i don't matter ey
